Who would you rather have?
Weren't we very close on both of these? Any news if either has decommitted as of yet now that Gary is gone. I would rather have Faust, but either one would be a good catch
Faust is decomitting and we were very close to getting him.

Not exactly. Faust was pretty much between Nova and Maryland. Breunig was on the radar, but I'm not sure Buzz offered.
That said, if I were Buzz I'd be making a call to Faust especially.
Nick and Juan Anderson got along well in Chicago several weeks back.
I would love to get Faust, 6 foot 6 switchable

Neither. I don't want to run off Mayo for Faust, and make it two years in a row that MU runs off a spring commitment SG. If Buzz wanted Breunig he would have offered him a scholarship.
Faust is 6 6
Faust is 6 foot 6 I don't think Buzz would use him as SG

Sorry. I guess that we'd be running off Juan Anderson then, my mistake.

sure he would ... Faust /is/ a SG. huge range.
I guess Breunig, as our need for Faust seems to have lessened in the past couple months. But I'm not sure I'd really want either considering our scholarship situation. Is Breunig suited for playing down low? He seems more like a lengthy 3 than a 4 or 5.

I have a feeling that that was the MU staff's evaluation, as well.
Ain't gotta Crean nobody. A schollie still is on da table.

Agreed, and Faust doesn't seem much different. Sure he's 6'6, but he's only 175 pounds. Playing in the Big East would wear him down way too quickly if he played 4 or 5.
We could really have a killer quad:
Leaving out transfers (i.e., Jamil), Todd, Juan, Derrick and Nick would be like Buzz's version of the Fantastic Four.
They could run the team for the rest of their careers at MU.

Faust would only play the 4 or 5 if Crean were coaching him.
Faust is a 2G.

Agree, no buzzcut needed....spot still available.
Faust is tight with the Maryland asst. who recruited him. Maybe that dude will be retained on staff.
I posted this on the other site but I feel strongly about it, so I'm pasting it here. ;D

If he is willing, you take Faust in a heartbeat, AND
you try to sign the best 4/5 you can find in 2012.
Does anyone honesty believe we are all done with transfers before Sept of 2012? We have what we feel are 12 high major players and counting on scholarship this coming season. And, some are not going to play many minutes. I hope and pray for all returning players to actually return each season, but unfortunately that isn't always reality.
If Faust is not interested, I love the idea of Olu Ashaolu for 1 year and the best 4/5 you can find in 2012.
One thing I am sure of, Buzz will always keep recruiting.

Nice Chicos. A term loved by the UW board.
This is why your martyr act falls on deaf ears.
Can you image in two years having a chisled 6-3 Taylor and a 6-6 Faust as our BACKCOURT just three years after Lazar had to play CENTER at 6-5. Nothing against our short, fast line-ups, and not saying those two would start in two years by any means, but would LOVE to have the option of dwarfing an opponent in certain situations.

Seriously. When I started reading MU message boards, i actually respected and agreed with the vast majority of your posts. For a few seasons now I've read a lot of your posts thinking, "we're all allowed to disagree on issues...this is just one of Chico's I'll look past"
Well thats done...you've managed somehow to go from a poster I respect to an absolute douche...Get over yourself
Both Fergsuon and Taylor are unsigned committments for 2012. I would expect one of them to change their mine, if we get Faust.
Man--every time a coach leaves and/or there are decommits, the posts start: "Go sign im Buzzer"
What makes people think that we have 4 or 5 extra scholarships to offer? I believe if we take somebody else, then we have no more scholarships for 2012 also. We need a big. If we take one of these other types this year, I think that would solidify that somebody is gone.
It sounds like a number of people believe in over recruiting whenever it is learned somebody is decommitting.
My question would be: if we add somebody other than a good big this year, what do they believe we should do for recruiting next year--fire somebody from the team?
Faust would have been a nice player to get last November. But as Buzz stated he wants kids that want to be at
MU, Faust did not. Buzz has been able to get kids that do not even visit MU, so Buzz and the coaches are selling
themselves to kids and sometimes it works, ie. TJ Taylor, Jimmy Butler. I say move on, find that one big next year to
take Crowders place. Juan Anderson and Faust look like the same player.

Besides TJ Taylor, who chose Oklahoma over MU but is now committed to us?

Don't forget about Jamil Wilson in that category as well.
good points, I stand corrected. Still do not want Faust as Anderson took his
place.
One other thing to consider (and this is by no means an indictment on ANYONE), there is still a pending sexual assualt case that alledgedly involves multiple current players...IF Buzz & Co were to oversign it could mean that there's a run-off / transfer looming, but it could also be a signal that someone will be dismissed from the team and / or university, too.
Again, I still don't even know who the rumors are about so I'm not speculating that we're still recruiting for that purpose...but that could very well be a realistic scenario

That is what I am fearing. Nobody here seems to think it is a problem, but Buzz knows what is going on and will recruit accordingly. I still think Blue is going to trial, because if he plead guilty he had to deal with Buzz's punishment. Hopefully, Blue wins his case and the sexual assault thing goes away.
With the sexual assault case you have to think that there would be something out by now. I think if someone was going to be run off he would be gone by now. I don't understand why you are talking about over signing when we still have a scholarship left. It is not an issue right now

Think about it. If Buzz k.o. a player now, it would be syaing he is guilty before the trial, if there is even a trial. My guess is that if Buzz has any issues with a player, that player knows it, and neither one will publically comment on it.
