Tried out Oscar's pub this past weekend after a round of golf. He used to work at Sobelman's and I have to say...I was incredibly impressed with it...the other MU alums I was with said it might give the Sobelburger a run for best burger...the fries are also really, really good. It's on the other side of the valley, just off of 16th street on Pierce

Good for Oscar! I always thought he was a cool guy. I remember him when he was at sobelmans and tall grass. I'll have to try it out
Spectacular service as well. When we walked in, Oscar came up to our table and asked us all how we were doing and stopped by as we were finishing up to make sure everything was good.
I am very interested in cheecking this place out. I heard about it Monday and will likely stop there after my round of golf on Saturday.
stopped by oscars for dinner Saturday night. all of us got different burgers and they were all fantastic. we also got great service and a visit from Oscar as we were finishing up. I will definitely go back.
With two sobelmans, oscars, and marquette gyros all competing for the same area, it feels like one of these guys is going to bite the dust.

False. Two sobelmans that you could go to the original and sit comfortably. one on campus would be more accessible to students that don't have transportation.
Oscar's being 'close to campus' is kind of a stretch. Its south of the valley where 16th becomes Cesar Chavez.
I went there Saturday and tried the Big O burger. It was amazing and just like what foreverwarriors stated, the service was amazing and Oscar took the time to talk to everyone that was dining. I came away very impressed.
Me and some friends ate at Oscar's tonight and we all enjoyed it. The Burgers were extremely good, and the fries were top shelf. I strongly suggest going there.
Where is Sobelman's? When did it open? 86 graduate and never heard of it. Like to try it out next time I'm in town.

Soon to be in Angelo's old building, too.
Oscar has done himself well. The burger padawan has become the burger master if I may make a star wars metaphor.
Everyone here knows my sobels loyalty but damn oscars is good
