What's that, Jarion Henry's top ten?
Trying to figure out what/who he's talking about...
It was an overflow from a previous tweet...it's the list of college coaches that are at Simeon High School in Chicago today. Not sure what's going on down there but I do know they've got a few highly regarded 2013's (most notably Jabari Parker)...maybe they're doing some kind of open gym??? Who knows?
Apparently Cuonzo Martin just offered Parker. He's considered one of the best recruits for 2013, 2nd on ESPN. According to Rivals, Marquette is one of at least 18 schools that have offered him. He is a Mac Irvin Fire player, so at least Buzz has an "in", though I'm not sure where we stand with them after Reggie's transfer and Shaw's commitment to Illinois (though as I remember, his AAU coach wanted him to come here).
I'd love the kid at Marquette, but that's somewhat obvious. I mean, who wouldn't?
BYU and a Simeon player? What the hell?
That's like Donald Trump and Waffle House.

Everywhere I've read, Parker seems to have a fantastic character and work ethic to go along with his near-limitless talent. Apparently BYU believes it, though if he signs with the Cougars, I'll probably die of shock.

He could be a fricking angel, and it'll be a missed connection.
Simeon high school is a perennial power in the state of Illinois.
Parker took an unofficial visit to the University of Washington this past weekend. Parker's dad was a former Golden State Warrior teammate of Lorenzo Romar, coach of Udub.
And just to clear up any confusion, Jabari Parker plays for Ferrari, not Mac Irvin Fire in AAU ball.

Are you sure? Seems that different sites conflict...ESPN says Ferrari, Scout says Mac Irvin: http://illinois.scout.com/a.z?s=169&p=8&c=1&nid=4451328
Yes I'm sure. I've seen Ferrari and Mac Irvin Fire play many times.
Jabari may be a one and done caliber player when all is said and done.

If he is, I'd happily take that one season at Marquette. Who knows, with the way the NBA is going, maybe it'd be two seasons by then.

Parker had run with Mac Irvin in the past, however he's playing with Ferrari this year, where his Simeon HS coach is also a coach (it's the first year coach Smith has been an AAU coach... which happened at the urging of Jabari).
After playing this Spring with Ferrari...Jabari Parker is switching to Mac Irvin Fire...but not 16's...17's.

"We'll give you the same number of shots Jimmer got" would be an enticement for any top player. However, the "You just have to go through college without getting laid line" does take BYU off many a prospect's list.
