All state forward from Missouri has decided on Georgetown. Hey, at least he's going to be making the Big East stronger. Reportedly, Kansas and Mizzou were after him, too.

edit: changed topic title to be clear where he committed...
Porter was going to pick Mizzou prior to their coaching change. He's very good, and elite "get" for Georgetown who reaps the rewards for coming in 2nd for a kid and having a coaching change bump them up to first.
I believe Georgetown is now at least one, if not two, scholarships over committed for next year.

Five commits and include:
Two 6ft 9in
Two 6ft 8 in
Were we looking at him?
Mizzou fans are not reacting well. Tough couple weeks for that fan base.
Longer than a tough couple of weeks for Mizzou fans. Try this:
Three National Top 25 kids from St. Louis this year in 2011 class. Anderson gets none. Then he lands one from nearby Sikeston Month, (Porter) but leaves. The amazing thing is one of thos e top 25 St. Louis kids picked Arkansas, where Anderson now lands and that kid didn't want to re-open his recruiting.
Brad Beal: Florida
BJ Young: Arkansas
Ben McLemore: Kansas
Otto Porter: Georgetown
Can we change the title to "Otto Porter commits to GTown"? I got all excited :(
So, I'm still wondering, does this affect us at all?
It affects Marquette in that the league and an opponent landed an elite National recruit...a skilled power forward with an excellent. Mid-range game.

Big f*cking deal. This happens all the time. It's Big East basketball. It isn't going to have any more effect on MU basketball than any other 4 star recruit signing with another Big East school.
Tommy. Then don't read or participate in the subject. No one is making you read it. It is the mods job to determine what is appropriate. Not yours.

You're right.
