he's got to go. not only does he project to be in the top 3 right now, but I would wager that PG is amongst the most volatile from year to year. If you're a seven foot monster, you're height and ability to add muscle wont ever go away. If youre a six and change PG, staying just allows scouts to dissect your game to death and find excuses for you to tumble down the draft board.

Loved what he did for our team, but it was such a huge bummer to see him go out the way he did...he'd be in the NBA if it wasn't for that injury.
Getting a multi-million dollar payday to drop out of undergrad and do what he's naturally good at... College is fun, but not that fun.
Also as a Top 5 (prob #1) pick, he'll have a nice shoe deal and a few other smaller deals that will most likely kick in immediately. Unlike borderline guys, he'll be cashing paychecks right away.
I just hope the T-Wolves take him. ;D

Henson's a weird dude. His skill set/athletic build is lotto pick but his immature game/mindset is high schoolish. If he wasn't such a boner he'd be a sure fire top 10. Barnes better go.

Barnes said he'd be back, like Sullinger. Who knows if either will stick to that, but I think quite a few players that would be sure-fire top 10 picks may end up staying another year because of the impending lockout. It'd be a crappy scenario for lottery teams this year, but could make for a really good draft pool next summer.

This is bad for college basketball from a non-monetary standpoint, imo. Forget about the great parity this year with Mid Major conferences having the second best record in the tourney. The elite teams will be really, really good next year. I can only hope the Barnes' and Sullingers of the world decide to go pro at the last minute.

I don't think it will be bad for college basketball. Was it a bad thing in the 1990s when the best players usually stayed 2-3 years before declaring? The good thing about college basketball is that even when the overall quality of play is down, you can still have a great tournament which leaves most people satisfied with the season. During the regular season, having returning stars will likely increase ratings, and come March, we'll either have even more fantastic upsets or we'll have truly special teams to watch. Either way, college basketball will be just fine.

Elite teams are always really, really good. That is what the word means.
This year there were no elite teams.
I think that it would be more accurate to say: among the top programs, there will be some elite teams.
College basketball, like all sports, is better with a few elite teams.
I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing two great teams battle it out in the title game.
