It's been mentioned that Nader most likely will go prep next year. Why not offer him now, and red shirt him next year. Assuming we cannot get Murray. Or does he need to go to prep school for grades reasons?
Ralph?
What was wrong with the old Nader thread? It's still on the front page.
Grades is the mostly reason he is going to prep school, so he probably is not eligible.
BrewCity,
Started a new one because the other one got to talks of VCU and Butler players...kind of off topic.
Thanks bilsu, that's the info I was looking for. He sounds like a solid player, would be nice for MU to have our choice of some of these guys being floated around i.e. God's Gift, Aaric Murray, and Abdel.

Correct: He is not eligible because of academics
But if we can land him before he gets to prep school, there might not be risk of losing him, depending on what the school's policies are about being recruited by college coaches.
Modified: Thanks kmw...had my years mixed up.
Sultan 2012 guys can sign in Nov of 2011.

Yeah...I suppose threads here do sometimes go off-topic :-\
Nader seems like a great prospect, I'm just not sure he fits a need for us. He seems like another switchable, of which we have a plethora for the next 3-5 years. We have much bigger needs at the 1 and 4 positions than we do another floating 2/3.

He does not fill a need ... with Ferguson in the fold, MU needs a PF or C (McGray, Nolan) along with a PG in the 2012 class.

?-(
Isn't that basically what I said?
The problem with that is that we only have one schollie left for 2012 with Ferguson coming in. So we can get a PF/C or PG in 2011, and the other in 2012, but we can't address both needs in either class.

yup...wasn't questioning it, just meant to reinforce your point -- apologies if that did not come across as intended. I hope Buzz can control his Switchables Fetish in the 2012 class.

Gotcha :)
Yeah, I love having guys who can fill in at multiple roles, but if he sticks to his own stated plan, it's 3 PGs, 3 Cs, and the rest switchables. Right now we have 2 PGs and 2 Cs, clearly there are needs outside of switchables.
