We sneak in at #25, behind four other Big East teams (Syracuse-3, Louisville-4, UConn-7, Pitt-12)
and no Notre Dame. Love it.
It was pretty easy to assume ND wouldn't be making an appearance in the preseason top 25 considering who they lost this year...

Andy Katz has us #14, one spot behind Bucky. Fourth in the Big East behind Cuse, Louisville, and UConn. Cincinnati is getting a lot of love in these polls too.

#19 according to SI

In my heart... we'll always be #1.

Must think Anderson is the real deal, no mention of Jamil Wilson?

I also love it that ND is not there, but we should always be concerned about Louisville. They will be loaded next year, and do seem to go after a lot of the same kids we do--and get many of them over the years.
14. Marquette
The Golden Eagles were the Big East's 11th team in the field of 68, but also one of two left standing in the Sweet 16. One of the main reasons Buzz Williams decided against going back to his roots in Big 12 country is that he has a team that can compete for the Big East top five with the majority returning and Jimmy Butler the only major loss.
But yes, I do wonder if transfers are often missed in these.
I love in many of the polls, people have Vandy between 5 and 15 in the polls. It's not every day MU has a ranked non-league team coming into the Bradley Center.
This is encouraging...

EDIT: I should have known this was posted before, but I didn't see it when I scrolled through the topics. At any rate, there is worse news to post twice.

I think they often are missed, especially JUCO transfers. Part of that may be because guys like Wilson haven't played for over a year and are now "under the radar." Incoming freshmen tend to get more hype because they have 4 or 5 stars next to their names.
