From his ESPN Insider Blog...
Kruger, West Virginia's John Beilein (even with the big buyout), Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings, Kentucky's Tubby Smith (if they offered), all make too much sense for Michigan. We'll see if they go in that direction. Remember, football is king here and the hoop coach won't make more than Lloyd Carr. The Oregon staff can't see Ernie Kent pursuing Michigan, even though his name is out there for the gig. Don't see Tom Crean in this mix, considering the Marquette coach is paid handsomely more than what Tommy Amaker makes, has control in the athletic department at a basketball school and there's no reason why he would want to go against his mentor Tom Izzo in state.
It seems like Andy is starting to see the light. Bill Cords did the right thing in locking up Crean long term - thanks to the generosity and commitment of more financially-able alumns than me. I have little doubt that the annual parade of rumors involving Crean moving to various other jobs significantly impacted his recruiting ability up until a few summers ago.
Well that makes me nervous, if Katz is saying Crean is out then he's probably landed the plane in Ann Arbor now and signing the paperwork.
