In a perfect world, where we would get to pick between the two, who would you take?
Murray.
It's not even close.
I would agree on Murray but I don't know if its not even close. Both have been mentioned before as having NBA talent, Achiuwa would play right away and only tie up a scholarship for two years, Achiuwa can defintely play the 4, and from what I hear Murray might have attitude problems. Don't get me wrong though, either would be great and I would take still take Murray over Achiuwa, I just think it's a close call.
We probably shouldn't get ahead of ourselves here. God's Gift is visiting Washington, St. John's, and Cincy this month. Not sure if he will come and give MU a look as well. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/huskymensbasketballblog/2014680521_gods_gift_achiu.html
Either would be great.

Yes - would be great if Marquette had that choice for real . . .

Along with the choice of a BET Championship or Elite 8
Both.
These things have a way of working themselves out. :o
Can we start a discussion about whether we should redshirt Otule and Gardner if we get both?
Is the cat all that if he went to LaSalle?
I'd venture to say if he was a high school senior he'd be in the top 5 centers in the country. Would you take that if you had to allocate a schollie for 3 yrs for 2 yrs of service?
I would.

Yes. People would be asking that question if he came to Marquette.
In 4ever words, ZFB would give his wife up to Murray after his first season in Milwaukee.
With Marquette's track record attracting big men, does anyone really think we'll get either of them? My guess is they'll end up elsewhere, but I'd love to be wrong.

Redshirting projects is smart. Just ask buzz. Does he kow what he is doin?
Murray. He's being talked about as an NBA prospect by draft sites, while Achiuwa was only talked about as an NBA prospect by his coach. I'd be satisfied with either, but I think Murray is the program-changing recruit of the two.
In fact, I'd rather have Murray than another PG...not the same for Achiuwa.
Say what you want about the quality of opponents that LaSalle has played, but Murray put up impressive numbers at the D1 level. GG put up similar numbers at a mid-level Juco.
GG might end up being a nice player, but I'd take Murray.

Otule already redshirted. Gardner will eventually be a power forward.

I remember when people made fun of Crean for not going hard after Javale McGee. McGee ended up at Nevada and fans said "can't be all that good then". Shockingly, he overcame the heartbreak of not ending up at Marquette and enjoys his NBA days now.
Don't dog the cat.
The article HoopsMalone linked implies that MU hasn't offered God's Gift yet, so it would seem that Buzz might be waiting on Murray before he offers God's Gift.
Is God's Gift returnable?
I actually think this board might be a little higher on God's Gift than Buzz is.
