This is still unconfirmed, but UnderTheHoop.com reports today that Indiana assistant Tim Buckley could be the next head coach at Loyola of Chicago.
Buckley was one of the top candidates for the Northern Illinois job before NIU tabbed Michigan State assistant Mark Montgomery as its man on Wednesday.
If Buckley is indeed the Ramblers' choice, he brings plenty of experience and a familiarity with the area's recruiting scene. He was the head coach at Ball State from 2000-2006 and also served as an assistant at both Marquette and Iowa.
Crean implied this the other day in his Twitter according to the IU boards. Buckley is an awesome individual. When my dad passed away suddenly, I'll never forget how gracious he was. He lost both his parents at a very young age. He was one of my favorite assistant coaches along with Mike Rice, Darrin Horn and Dan Theiss. Fun guys.
Hope he gets the job
