Will he have complimentary things to say about Buzz?
Buzz will be on 60 to trash Hurley in four years after another S16 and Final Four run
I hate Hurley.
Telling Taylor to break his commitment to Marquette.

Telling Taylor to break his commitment to Marquette.
Why? He was looking out for the best interest of the player. The head coach that Taylor committed to left the school, and Marquette hired a guy who had 1 year of college basketball head coaching experience, at UNO. That's not exactly a proven track record, especially when he finished under .500 in that 1 year. Instead he got the opportunity to go play at Kansas for Bill Self, who was coming off of a National Championship. How can you blame him for that?

Not completely accurate. Hurley pushed the release publicly before MU hired a coach. Pushed for it before Cottingham even had a chance to scramble back to MU.
He had to, though, as the KU assistant coaches did not want to wait in that New Jersey hotel forever ...

Correct. He called the school out publically for "failing to release" TT when that's not at all what was happening. Cott's simply asked they wait to meet the new coach before deciding and this jackass calls MU out through the media. He's an ego-manical pretty boy who acted more as a handler than anything in the case of TT.
And TT btw now has a GREAT relationship with Buzz.
The more I've thought about that situation, the more I've thought that Hurley was letting himself be the bad guy for his player's sake. As soon as Crean left, Taylor probably started hearing from other schools, one of them being Kansas, and decided he could use the situation to upgrade programs.
That said, Hurley was a douche in calling out MU and Buzz. It wasn't exactly a Joseph Young situation.
I thought I read that Hurley and Buzz kissed and made up. That Hurley said something to the effect that he is a fine coach and has no problem with any of his kids considering MU.
Am I correct on this or misremembering?
Pretty impressive guy is understatement. Plus I think he provided us a pretty good point guard along the way.
None of you have any idea what you're talking about.
Bob Hurley, Sr. Is beyond reproach. What happened with the player was simply a case of doing what was in the players best interest. Marquette's best interest was not, nor should it be, high on Coach Hurleys priorities.
Brell is right. We got Mandy Johnson years ago from St. Anthony's. Having watched the episode I couldn't help but admire the man. His heart is in the right place and truly has love and passion for his place in life. Inspirational, to say the least.
I don't think anyone is all that upset that Taylor left other than we lost a really good player. I think it was just the way Hurley went about it through the media. He even said along the lines Taylor had no idea who Buzz was and didn't trust him as a coach (Buzz was the main recruiter for Taylor). Also, he didn't seem to realize that the parents needed to request the release, not him. Now it may have all been an act to take the pressure off Taylor, but I feel there were ways that he could have gone about this in order to not make Buzz and Marquette look bad in the media.
Besides his coaching, he did almost 30 years as a state probation officer in Jersey City. You talk about a tough job. In 39 years he had only two kids not go to college, that in itself is beyond impressive for an inner city parochial school.
I was overly impressed as well.
I was impressed. The families are invested from an educational standpoint if they are poor, yet still come up with $5,000 a year, but he certainly has done a lot of good for people. I truly believe Buzz cares about his players more than most coaches, and I think that will impress Hurley over time. On the reverse side, has TC had any luck recruiting Hurley's players since leaving MU for IU? Obviously TC won't be choosing to leave IU anytime soon, but I wonder if TC leaving TT high and dry has any effect on things.

While I agree with your premise, it was the way that Hurley went about it, which was totally unnecessary, that left the bad taste in my mouth. No need to throw MU under the bus, Cottingham and MU were reasonable and did not deserve the treatment that Hurley gave them. From my understanding, the parents and to an extent Tyshawn may not have been entirely behind the decision to change schools - which is why the issues arose with the signature on the NLI Release.
It was Hurley, though, not Taylor hearing from the coaches. Taylor was under an NLI with MU, so contacting him directly would be a violation.
Is this a rerun of the previous show?

Who says you know anything? He is not beyond reproach and his comments about Buzz and Marquette were misplaced. Period.

Don't you know that TC ONLY gets his players now from Indiana Elite and they have the Asst Video Coordinator on staff to help them do it?
How long til TC hires a Hurley on his staff?
If you watched last night it is quite obvious his kids go around the country. Does not like sound like a pipeline to anywhere except best place for the kid. If Duke or SH does not get special treatment why would TC or anyone else?
4everWarriors---Brell knows!!
Danny Hurley was Cubillan's high school coach and came to Milwaukee to watch him play. I assume the Hurley family knows what Buzz is all about.
Cut Hurley some slack. Don't burn bridges. Let him get to know Buzz. The future might hold a gem for Marquette.
Does anybody think TT would have been better off at MU? At Marquette, he becomes the straw.
After last season, I definitely thought he would have been better off at MU. With Xavier Henry gone, he had more impact on the team, and things are looking better for him.
The Hurley brother's are now coaching Mike Deane's old gig at Wagner.
The fact that he never gave Buzz a chance until after the fact is bullshit. With Tyshaun Taylor we would have been to the elite 8 and an extra sweet 16. That Hurley guy took him away from us and bad mouthed the program to boot.

Well, he's not beyond reproach.
He's a massive douche who has worked the system for decades padding his record of wins. However, in the Taylor situation, he didn't do anything wrong.

He did...in a way with McLeod...but that bridge is now burned with the Hurley network. McLeod replaced Danny at St. Benedict's after Crean ash-canned him.
