Have really pulled for them all post season. Why not finish it on the first Monday in April?
Can't cheer for them, reason being Calhoun.

I don't care for Calhoun either, but I can't hate their players or the BE.
And somehow doing it with 3 Freshmen starters and a 4th playing major minutes...hmm
;)
Good to see the Big East representing
And I understand that people are going to say we should've/could've had Lamb, but regardless of that, the guy (along with Kemba) is fun to watch and root for. Back to back outstanding games. Disappointed in Verne Lundquist that he didn't make some ill-conceived March going out like a Lamb comment. Was waiting for it all game.

Do you ever post a response without having to take a jab...it's getting old. Sometimes you post decent thoughts, but I'm going with the ignore button.
I hope our incoming freshman, Anderson, Mayo and Wilson have an impact like UCONN's Lamb, Smith and Napier. They stepped it up again. Gotta root for the BE team, and VCU.

Fine by me...I'm sure you'll ignore all the others that take jabs, too. LOL. Point remains, as has been said, you can win with freshmen and we did it right here at MU only a few years ago. This idea that you can't is bizarre and silly considering it happened at OUR OWN SCHOOL.
Are we the last team to have beaten them? Guess I was wrong on them. Thought they shot their load in the BE Tourney.

I think the valid point is that the % credit you give to Kemba Walker for UConn winning these games in your posts (0%) vs. the credit he deserves (somewhere around 75%) is vastly disproportionate. If the NCAA gave out an MVP rather than player of the year (or whatever award they give), he would clearly be NCAA MVP, and he's a ghost in your posts. It is pretty clear that having a Kemba on your team helps everyone a lot. Definitely not to take anything away from Lamb or Napier especially. They're really good players. Much better than last year with Robinson. Thought he was overrated and a drag on the team. No skills.

Kemba is an incredible player...just as Novak was for MU when we had the three freshmen. I've never said differently. What was argued here is that having freshmen COULD NOT BE DONE which I just call poppycock with. Of course it could be done. You build them around a star like Lazar Hayward and see what happens. Is Lazar the same as Kemba? Absolutely not. Is Lazar as good as Novak in college? That's a more interesting argument. We went down the path we did and it worked, but the notion it was the ONLY way to go which people here have seriously argued, is nonsense.
I've got UCONN in one of my Final Fours so I'm a happy camper. Of course I want KU, one of my alma maters to win it all at this point since MU is out. Rock Chalk Jayhawk
Amen. A dynamic PG who can put the team on his back and raise his teammates' games.

They're going to run out of gas any day now!! ;)
How about UCONN winning versus SDST & Arizona, with both games being like road games. Arizona got all the Duke and SDST. tickets.
Lovin' this run. Have them winning it all in my bracket. They're my last hope at any glory, because in one pool I'm the only one that picked them.
My bad. I didn't realize I was getting in the middle of a turning over the program with freshmen v. Jucos argument, which apparently I did. I guess if you say that Novak and Zar had equally good sr years and both teams got bounced in the first round of the tournament by a possession, seems like a push. I think Zars team made it a round further in the BEast tournament and they were within a win, or so, in the regular Big East season. Buzz recruiting Jucos hasn't seemed to have a long-term detrimental effect on the program. Seems like a push.

So your point is because they did it everyone should or they are failures? My god, you truly are annoying.

I can't, Calhoun is one of the 5 biggest scumbags in college hoops. Screw him, even if he's a Big East coach.

No, my point is that there are many ways to skin a cat and when posters here say there was
ONLY one way to do it, they are wrong which has been proven over and over and over again.
Many ways to skin a cat. I don't understand why you don't put me on ignore? It's not hard, it's the button on the left. Really easy...just click it. Of course it would prevent you from the high minded conversation like "love interest" and "drinking buddy" charges. I think the entire community would miss those intellectual gems.

So, I challenge you and I have to put you on ignore? Really? Put me on ignore if you don't like it. You called me 15 in a prior thread, so I am guessing it won't bother your butt to put me on ignore. In fact, you can do it and do not need to even tell me about it. I don't need to ask you to do it, as you asked me. So, if that is what you choose, my life goes on.
So your comment wasn't a JUCO slap? Just a discussion point? Somehow, you seem disengenious to me.
I know I am going to regret opening this can of worms, and the thread is now off-topic, (congratulations again to UConn on making the Final Four; I understand the dislike for Calhoun, but I thoroughly enjoy watching this particular UConn team--have to include Roscoe Smith, their Mr. Irrational Confidence, and reigning Worst of the Worst champ for around 3 months)
Is it possible that Buzz simply recruited Jucos rather than high school players because he felt he may have had a better rapport and more credibility with Junior College players than high school players as a coach with zero experience. Therefore, he believed he could get a player more ready to play out of JC rather than high school at that point in time. He did not have the hangups about recruiting Jucos that others do and went for the best available and most ready to play. So far it seems to have worked out, and we seem to be back toward having a balance in classes.
This is just a hypothesis, and I have no inside knowledge, no bone to pick with Crean or Buzz, or any reason to care whether we have players from Junior college or not. The hypothesis may not mesh with the facts as I have not followed this issue very closely. Based on what Buzz has said lately, though, it seems like it might make sense.
I'm rooting for them to win it all. I really like Kemba and Lamb. Plus with all the BE haters, I can't wait until a team that went 9-9 in conference play goes and wins the whole damn thing.

I have very few people on ignore. I don't mind what people say. If I disagree with them, I'll argue back or ignore them altogether. It's pretty simple.
Yes, it was a discussion point. I'm happy to point out the threads in question where it was stated that ONLY one way would work and people blasted others for saying that wasn't the case...MU84 in particular got a bunch of stuff thrown his way. Today is further proof it wasn't the only way and God forbid someone raise
the issue.
There were a number of posts, but this is the one that sticks out the most. I love Dr. B, but to suggest that there was only one way to go is just not accurate. MU84 then is attacked to no end and you wonder why there is vitriol on here at times. Someone suggests there is more ways to skin the cat but since it wasn't Buzz's way, well F him.

Mac, it becomes a matter of you can't win for losing. People shout down anyone here that has a different view point. Then when they show a factual illustration or an entire set of facts, then the name calling comes out like Love interest and Drinking Buddy. I know you're better than that so it surprises me when you go down that route, it really does.
