I really enjoy this board and it's been a helluva year experiencing the ups and downs with you diehards. It's sad it has to end like this, but we've all been through worse heartbreak than this the past few years. At least we made it to the 2nd weekend. It's progress and I really want more, but it's just meant to be. We need to still recruit better of course and I think this will be a good learning experience for the young guys.
I agree. +1
I'm trying really hard to not hit submit to all the snarky comments I want to make. No good can come from it. I think I'm gonna log off until tomorrow.
One giant turd tonight....but, i am still encouraged about our future. Cheers.
I want to be optimistic... we had a good two game run here but the fact still remains we didn't make progress in BE play we're on a downward trend in losses. Sweet Sixteen is nice and that will buy Buzz some kudos from MU, but I'm worried over the whole of the year our trend is more losses.
Davante Gardner has had a good game. He can score against anybody. And I liked when he flattened Zeller early on...no backing down.
Next year's team should be better....it was a nice tournament run capping what I would describe as a so-so regular season. Props to Buzz for getting the kids to play hard in the Big East Tournament and the NCAA tournament and putting a nice bow on the regular season. They were one of the last 6 teams into the tournament and certainly proved one we got there that they belonged.
Now on to next year...should be an interesting next two weeks but hopefully not too interesting. If things stay the way they are, then MU will be a top 25 team next year.
Go Warriors

Unless MU recruits a competent PF or Center, they will not be a top 25 team.
Just completely overmatched, and psyched out besides. Reminiscent of KU in '03. We need something inside or we will never be a serious contender.
Is Buzz gone?
Totally agree with CBB in this thread.
To me lessons learned from tonight:
Need more length and another good slasher, plus a shooter to compete with the Carolinas.
Tough task but that's what needed if we want to take that next step to elite.
I just want to say, where was the T on Henson for running his mouth. They gave one to Crowder, where is one on Henson?

He wears a UNC jersey and plays for Roy Williams.
Just want to say - Do we really have to wait 7 months for more Marquette BB?
At least basebball opening day is just a week away.

We were a top 25 team for a bunch of years without those two positions..a few years back. Otule will make more strides, Gardner needs to lose about 20lbs and will be better. Hopefully Williams can get it going. Not sure what to expect out of Wilson, but with DJO as a senior plus an improved JC...I think they're a 20 to 25 ranked team next year. That's my hope anyway.
Brutal loss, but we're on the right path. Another year will be great for guys like Blue, Crowder, Cadougan, Gardner, Otule, Williams, and Jones. Adding Wilson should help make up for the loss of JFB. I think we're a top 25 team next year.
As far as needs, I would still like another point more than a forward. When we needed to settle tonight, we had no one to do that for us. Here's hoping Cadougan can take the lead, and that Buzz can find the ballhandlers on the bench to give us the balance we need.
It probably depends on who comes out for the draft, but I can see us ranked pre-season. Even if not, I'm excited for next year. I think we have more talent coming in than going out plus the experience gained this year, no offense JFB.

That was a few years back with three players who made the NBA and James, not this team. I will stick with my guns. Otule is not the answer and no more excuses about broken feet/eyes, etc. Tonight was destruction by the frontline of UNC. They need a skilled PF or center.
If Buzz returns we are top 25 preseason next year. We have more talent/experience going into next season. Jamil Wilson is a force.
