Men vs. Boys
I did not expect a win, but this is shocking. we are getting destroyed.
I'm a little shocked, ners said this game was a good matchup for us. LOL
My eyes are bleeding this is so ugly. Yikes.
This is equally as upsetting as the KU game thus far. I hope it doesn't get worse.
Thought we would be a little more competative.
Wonder if OU is having second thoughts?
Here's the stats:
MU was up 10 to 8, UNC goes on a 33 to 5 run.
MU shooting 6 for 30, 20%
MU shooting 0 for 8 from three.
MU has 12 turnovers, UNC 3
15 points. WOW.....
Shocking the score isn't worse.
At this point I don't care if Buzz leaves that's how pissed off I am.
His game plan of getting it into Otule early didn't work, so lets see what happens in second half. He must be frustrated to heck and that showed by putting in Jones. Anyone off bench to help.
Jones was in to try and get a shot. He couldn't nor could anyone else.
Motherf&*&ing #$@%%$&@#^&
My posse had to leave the f**king bar and go to the apartment at half cause of embarrassment.

Guess I was wrong on this one...thought we matched up fairly well with Kansas in 2003 as well. 2 big laid eggs on the national stage.
Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways though JD...
Doris---We do not Buzz leaving...trust me.
Good Christ, at least I was fucking wasted during the final four.
The length all over the court for N.Carolina is causing fits for Marquette on both ends, but especially at disrupting our offense.
That mixed with missing some wide open jumpers and some layups they usually make has clearly frustrated and rattled the players which lead to even more problems/mistakes.
Lastly, Marquette desperately needs a quality and consistent point guard. It's been a problem off and on all season, tonight it's been a big issue.
This is what can happen when you face a team of McDonalds All-Americans. Miss some shots you normally make and turn it over, suddenly they'll go on game changing runs and the players have to be very hard willed so as to not get super frustrated and rattled, or the game can become a blowout quick. That has happened in both games tonight.
No f**king balls this game.
We are down by 30, we have more talent than that.
When does the talent enter the game?
Will we score 20?

Whew...we hit that benchmark. Now the drinking game becomes...will we hit 40?

Has nothing to do with "balls".
It's much more a bunch of 18-21 year old kids/young men who allowed the big stage to frustrate and rattle them when things started going bad vs a team with superior talent.
These guys aren't robots or professional athletes. This isn't the first time and won't be the last time in college athletics where a lesser talented team allowed the big stage and frustration get the better of them emotionally, thus things snowball into an ugly blowout.
allowing big stage to rattle them= nice way of saying playing with no balls.
So we're in agreement I guess.

Easy for you to say sitting behind a computer screen when you wouldn't be able to hack it in the slightest if you ever had to go actually out and play at level of NCAA basketball in the Sweet 16.
It always amuses me when guys sitting behind a computer screen on sports forums across the country question the heart of players when they themselves have no clue at all what's it's like to play at this level or have their hearts broken to be beaten bad with a huge audience watching.
The ones with balls are the kids who are actually on the court, not the tough guy sitting behind the computer who thinks he knows what it takes to play athletics on a high level.
duderino, you saying that they got rattled is exactly what I said. we played with no balls for at least the first half of this game aka they were rattled and played scared... don't get all righteous on me.
Well, lets see, after they beat Syracuse, it was like the Championship for Marquette. They forgot there where four more rounds in the tournament. Fortunately for Roy he always get's Marquette after Marquette thinks they won their Superbowl the game before.

Big difference between saying some 18-21 year olds got rattled and not having any balls.
Hell, even professional athletes can get rattled when a superior team is going on a run and nothing is going right. Why are you so pissed off then when some kids/young men who have never been in a situation like this let their emotions get the best of them as they saw their dreams being crushed?
Instead of being mad at these players, i feel bad for them. All the hard work they put in and i'm sure they felt devastated to have that happen to them. It's not like these players have been jerks off the court or played selfishly this year, they simply got their butts kicks by a better team. it happens, look at Richmond tonight.
