...is the stud Hansbrough. Comparing against MSU. UNC could consistently get behind MSU's defense (UNC almost matched our point total vs. MSU at halftime). He can run the floor, is as strong as an ox and can post up. UNC is young, but they have the talent to win it all. We did a much better job on Neitzel who kept MSU in the game, but to be able to consistently going inside for points, drawing fouls--especially as MSU caught up--is what we couldn't do. MSU was worn down. GU is going to be a great match-up for UNC if it comes about.
You're right ----Hansborough is a hard working stud----but UNC has so much talent----shouldn't even have been close in the 2nd half----Izzo does a better coaching job than Roy Williams .
If we were fully loaded, I would take our chances against UNC.
The good part about losing on Thursday was that our collective asses didn't have to get handed to us by Tyler and crew yesterday. Not only is he very talented, but he plays all 40 minutes at an intense level.
;) One can speculate, but our big 3 when healthy can take down anyone.

I agree...I thought we matched up well to UNC too with our guards and getting more into a running game. This game pointed out to me that we may only be one player away from being a 1 or 2 seed. Great teams always have that one go to player. That boy is a pure stud. I also agree Izzo did a great job agianst both MU and UNC. He called some great time outs at key times to control momentum and give his team a rest. It seems they always came out with some points after.

You obviously weren't sitting in the stands on Thursday night to watch that abortion. No comparison in the two teams. None.
(By the way, I've stayed away the past few days because I have been furious, but I will give my thoughts from Winston-Salem eventually).
I didn't see a mention of the "Curse of Carolina"? Isn't there some stat about Marquette not winning a game played in the state of North Carolina? We never beat Charlotte in Charlotte or Wake Forrest at their house and not to mention that NCAA Providence game in Charlotte...
Good point, don't forget East Carolina - 2 loses right? Did we finally beat charlotte once? Or is that streak still intacted?
According to the stat-guru's at Cracked Sidewalks (http://marquettebasketball.blogspot.com/2007/03/marquette-speared-by-msu-spartans-in.html):
QuoteThe Carolina Curse continues. MU is now 3-25 all-time in the state of North Carolina.
We won at East Carolina in 2005, I believe it was in overtime.
