Hadn't heard this before:
MILWAUKEE — Buzz Williams isn't bragging when he says he doesn't sleep very much these days.
While some coaches seem to consider their workaholic ways to be a badge of honor, Williams isn't pulling all-nighters at Marquette to prove a point about his dedication.
Williams says he has been working with a doctor at the Mayo Clinic since last year and his ability to sleep had been improving until recently. Going into the Golden Eagles' matchup with North Carolina in the round of 16 on Friday night, Williams' restless ways have returned.
But Williams doesn't think anybody should pay any attention to his sleep problems going into what could be considered Marquette's biggest game since its 2003 Final Four run.

he could have apnea.
I get about four hours a night. I just "can't sleep" too.

To stop breathing when he is asleep. . . he'd need to be. . asleep. . .

Ahh ... suffering from sleep deprivation.
That explains some of your posts. ;)
I'm not a psyciatrist like some posters here are ( ::) ) but I've seen some folks express that Buzz has OC traits...nothing wrong with that by the way. I love that my basketball coach could be OC about basketball. One of the aspects of a patient with OC is abnormal sleeping.
They are so consumed by one thing (or a small number of things) that it occupies their thoughts all the time, including during normal sleep patterns.
Sleep is key for a healthy life. Hope he can find something that will address that.
Maybe he should start watching some Badger games, that will have him fall asleep.

^ Was this a Tobias Funke (Arrested Development) reference.
TOBIAS (referencing George Michael's nervous habits): "...a thing called the OC disorder."
MICHAEL: "don't call it that"
If it was...very well played.

Orange County traits? Is there a known cure?

Maybe he should try falling asleep to the thought and vision of naked broads.

Tobias Funke: Part analyst, part therapist. Analrapist.
He has an underactive thyroid. It's slowed his metabolism which caused all the weight gain. It also causes problems with sleep and some OCD behavior, if untreated. Very easy to treat, however. Just need to supplement the hormones his thyroid isn't producing.
Buzz, write me a big check as a thank you -- or at least season tix -- after you get this resolved and I'm proven right.

My son had apnea when he was born (scary stuff!), so we became familiar with it.

Agreed, I've always thought he's displayed some OC behaviors. I kind of like it too, he sure has character and works harder than I ever could.
I used to have trouble sleeping. Got turned on to Melatonin, which is available at GNC. I sleep really well now. FWIW....
Ejaculation has also been known to help men fall asleep. I recommend it as a natural and healthy sleep aid alternative to the Ambien's and Lunestas of the pharmaceutical world.

I have it too. Took about 7 years of the old lady nagging me to go in. Finally did it, have slept awesome since I got my cpap. plus I don't hear the kids, so I don't have to get up at night.
I was stopping breathing 45x's an hour.
