If you get ESPN Insider, the rumors section on the college bball tab already has rumors about Missouri. http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/features/rumors
That Buzz is at the top of the list is no surprise. He will be on everyone's list until Cott extends him this summer and people infer that he is turning down OU.
However, number 2 on the list is Tony Benford. Interesting choice, but I'd be happy for him if he went. It'd be crazy for Buzz to put an assistant in a job that good in year 3.
He has a rolling 6 year deal...how much are we going to extend him by? 10 years? 15 years?
Missouri would be the last place I would be worried about Buzz going to.
Okay, I've been out of touch today...didn't Anderson sign an extension? Did he end up going back on that and heading to Arkansas anyway? If so, I'm glad. I think the Razorbacks were a much more realistic threat to land Buzz than Mizzou is, though I think he's staying regardless.

+1 what did I miss?

Agreed. I think the issue is how much of a bump will Marqutte give him.
As far as Mizz is concerned, I think they should kick Anderson to the curb. He public money whoring is an embarrassment.
Anderson still likely to AK after extension: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=6249515
His Mizzou extension must have just upped the ante on yearly salary.
KMOX reports: KMOX has confirmed through Arkansas media outlets that Mike Anderson will be offered a seven year / $2.2 million dollar per year package, including a $500,000 buyout of his current Missouri contract. Sources expect that Anderson will accept the offer and be introduced as the new Arkansas basketball coach within the next 24-48 hours.
Arkansas TV station 5NEWS reported earlier today that the Razorback Foundation board has approved a contract for Anderson, and their source said there would be a news conference Thursday.
ESPN college basketball insider Andy Katz reported Wednesday morning that Anderson would meet with officials at the University of Arkansas later in the day about the school's vacant head coaching position and he was "50-50″ on taking the job.
Katz reported Anderson took the job at Arkansas so looks like it's a done deal. At this point only real concern would be ou or Texas a&m if turgeon leaves
So did Anderson not do the extension or did he sign it and he's still going to Arkansas?
Tony Benford!?! Why aren't these programs looking at Assistants from programs with a more sustained record of success than MU like Michigan State, Kansas, Ohio State, etc.?

Sort of puts the "why won't Buzz deny the rumors" comments to rest. Here Anderson was reported as agreeing to an extension yesterday and today he is leaving? I am guessing the fans at Mizzou are going to be really kind when they say their goodbye's. ;)

If he signed the extension at Mo. and then still takes the Ar. job, he is a whore--the only question was the price.
Not at all. If Mizzou was stupid enough to offer and sign him to an extension without including a prohibitive buyout amount, well, their bad. They should have put an astronomical number in there to start, and if he balked, that would have told them he has no intent on staying and just wanted some bargaining leverage with Arkansas.
Jimmy Sexton you sly dog.

Or, they just made $500k. Not sure how it played out. Was it an extension or a new contract? They may have just extended the contract and sweetened the deal. Not really sure.
I do, personally, have an issue with a coach - and the agent - agreeing to and signing a contract while continuing to negotiate with the other party. It has a stench in my eyes.
Jimmy Sexton is such a good agent that he had both Arkansas and Mizzou throwing money at his client.
Flip Pressey is expected to go with Anderson to AK.
St. Louis area native and current popular Missouri St coach Cuonzo Martin will be a strong candidate. Marquette alum Jon Harris would likely go with Martin to Mizzou if that happened. Martin has already been recruiting the region for several years now and he's very popular with AAU coaches, something that's been a previous issue. Though Mizzou is likely to aim higher first. Some think Anderson to AK was done in December under the table and agent Sexton was working both sides to maximize money. Nobody knows. Anderson did say 19 days ago that he was retiring at Mizzou.

How could it be done in December AND Sexton was negotiating with both parties to maximize the money? The last part would contradict the first, no?
Your last sentence is why I don't think the comments people want Buzz to say will change anything. Too many coaches say they are not leaving and shortly thereafter, they are gone. Due to that, the rumors will persist until OU finds it's coach.
