We've been doing this for years...draft is tonight. You draft 6 players for each team just like a NFL Fantasy draft. Awarded points based on the points your player scores. The key is to not only pick players that score a lot of points, but those that will be around for multiple games in the tournament. So a Jimmer pick, for example, may backfire if he's knocked out in round 2 whereas the #3 scorer on Duke might get to the Final Four and score more overall points.
Good stuff.....you guys should give it a try if you haven't.
Kemba, Hansbrough, Irving, Sullinger, Wright, Barnes
I win.
I do this every year and have consistently finished in the top 3 out of my 16 friends we get very into it and its very organized my team this year is more risky then any team I have had but that's the kind of season it has been.
(Note: You can also make a team pick which means you get the high scorer for the team but they have to be a 10 seed or higher)
JaJuan Johnson
Tyler Zeller
Derrick Williams
Dwight Hardy
TEAM MARQUETTE
boom or bust
Leonard - SDSU
Singler - Duke
Marcus Morris - Kansas
Gibbs - Pitt
Sullinger - OSU
Barnes - UNC
I like this.
Those teams would obviously never happen
I've been doing this for years, but use rebounds and assists as well...it's a lot of fun. We have a 6-round draft, and a first-come, first-served round 7 where you have to select someone from a team seeded 10th or lower. This year, I ended up with:
Jon Diebler
E'Twaun Moore
Derrick Williams
Jeremy Lamb
Seth Curry
Talor Battle
and JFB as my 7th-rounder
I don't expect to win. In 2009, I took 2nd with a team consisting of only Big East players and Orlando Mendez-Valdez from Western Kentucky. I lost because of Blake Griffin.
what is the site where I find this??

I'm not sure there is a website, It's something that my group of friends just set up.

Did mine on Monday... 14 guys in the draft, you pick 10.
Walker Uconn
Pullen K-state
D Williams Ari
Johnson Texas
Thomas OSU
Hopson Tenn
Morningstar KU
Butler Marq
Hassell ODU
Stokes Nova
Bonus... one player from either our 8th, 9th, or 10th rd will count as Double for the 2nd/3rd Round games. Turned out to be our 8th round meaning JFB is going for Double against X and hopefully Cuse.

I took Irving with my final pick tonight and everyone thought I was nuts. Mostly guys from ESPN and FOX sports in the pool.

Somehow, you failed to name a real Morris brother there. ;) I believe you mean Markieff? I only point it out because between Maurice and Maurkice Pouncey and Marcus and Markieff Morris, you must be very careful with your "Mark" spinoff names in college athletics.

I noticed a high volume of Duke players, I assume you get more points the more games the team plays? That is a really cool mix of picking individual player performances but balancing it against how well you think a team will do. Definitely something I'll be looking into next year with some friends.
Jimmer

Changed to reflect Marcus. Too many "M's" there.
Did our second annual version tonight. 9 guys, 10 players each. I had the 5th pick and got the following, Marcus Morris, William Buford, Kris Joseph, Gilbert Brown, Seth Curry, DJ Gay, Lewis Jackson, Gary Johnson, Jimmy F Butler and Frank Hassell

You'll be laughing at the end. Final pick is a steal for him.
Gotta bump this as a brag post...
Got First all but locked up in my 14-person pool... unless Matt Howard get 60 more pts than Kemba. Pullen and Dwill turned out to be huge for me as well.
Anyone else get lucky in their player pool? I know I'm not the only person on scoop who gave Kemba some love.
I have clinched my pool as well... Derrick Williams, Tyler Zeller and Team Marquette all got the most points for the round they were picked in, sometimes you just get lucky. Those three picks also helped me set a record for points even though I don't have a player in the final 4.

I wish...Duke going down killed me. At least my picks on teams did well, but not the players.
I sucked big-time in mine this year; already done. One guy loaded up on KY guys (all three freshman) and is going to win ours. Guy with Walker will take 2nd.
