Must be the guy with the bum thumb, huh? Because I sure did not see anyone on the court tonight who could have possibly received such acclaim.

you are right it must have been the guy with 120 turnovers and missed 4 games of the season and dribbles off his leg 3-4 times a game late in the shot clock (and somehow mu gets the ball back) and forces some1 to take a bad shot..then again it might have been the guys who missed 3-4 layups in first 3 minutes v.s msu...or the guy who went 2-9 from the field and turned the ball over 6 times..with that said james has gotten away from the TRUE point guard that can score huge numbers when needed..now its opposite..regression..big men are waste of time and space..other guards arent consistant shooters and turn ball over way too much..who brang em in??............who's supposed to be developing them not sending them into regression?......i like crean and he has done a lot for mu.. but his inability to adjust to 3rd grade basketball offense is upsetting..for gods sake its a pick n roll not rocket science.. go zone!!!! the lackluster performance has to fall squarely on creans shoulders..and the big men who play like confused mice

sooner or later the numbers even out on 23 footers...dunks and layups are all but 100%..some poisons just make you sick others kill you..

it wasn't the outside shooting that killed the zone, it was the uncontested backdoor layups/dunks on 3-4 consecutive MSU possessions against the zone.

fear of the 3 made those layups..people flyin around out of position defensively..takin that 1 extra step out and boom 1 goes right by your ear for a dunk..got to pack it in and be disciplined when you go zone..that they were not...after watching the game for a second time..could it have been just a real bad night no1's to blame cause eveyone is to blame? idk..but after the first 4-5 minutes there was a noticable difference in.....mojo..i guess...panic....nervousness...how soon we forget we start a freshman a junior and 3 sophs...and basically all of bench minutes come from underclassmen..mcneal out deer in headlights look after first couple minutes..you can prepare a player for the worst but when it comes you cant play for him..not sure what happened..let ya know after i get the stomach to take a 3rd look

The problem was that this team had some glaring weaknesses.  Than we lose our best/second best player.  Add to the fact that our bench gets shorter with Fitz having to start.  Than Barro gets 2 fouls in 2 minutes and our no depth center position gets thin.  Than Fitz picks up foul number 2, 4 minutes in and all of a sudden we are playing Lott, Burke and Kinsella a lot more minutes against a team with a front court that is just way more talented.  All of sudden we don't score after the first TV timeout and a little panic sets in.  We switch to a zone where the big guys get exposed and everything snowballs into one gigantic turd.  Every team has one or two bad games over the course of the year.  Unfortunately one of our bad games happened at a real bad time.

We should have a lot more depth next year.
