Both Jay Bilas and Hubert Davis picked MU as the upset of the first round. Bilas said that Butler is the difference and pointed out how MU shoots more FTs than any other Big East team. Bilas even talked about paint touches.
Davis likes Butler and Crowder's versatility. (If Bilas knew paint touches, Davis needs to know switchables)
Finally. DBag Gottleib loves X.
Holy Cow! Just watched Jay Bilas and Hubert Davis on ESPN while reviewing the East region both pick MU to upset Xavier as the Upset Alert from the East.
The more I watch Bilas, I would rank him right behind Knight as the best College Basketball analyst around. You can take the Domer Homer, Digger, or the Dookie Butt boy Vitale and bag them. I do like Vitale's enthusiasm--just don't like his Dookie honking, or any Italian coach--especially the way he slobbers over Pitino.
I would rather us one year have no one pick us as an upset or Cinderella team, etc. We get picked for this type of stuff every year.

With the short leash he's been put on since the Italian restaurant fiasco, Pitino has limited choices as to those who can slobber over him.
There is not really that much difference between the two teams, if you think about the seedings. MU being an 11th seed is saying that MU is the 41st though 44th best team in the country. Luanardi was seeding them as a ninth seed, whcih would be 33rd to 36th best team in the country. Xavier is a 6th seed, which is saying the are the 21st through 24th team in the country. I do not see them as a top 25 team. The reality is they should be meeting either as a 7-10 or 8-9. The 6-11 is extreme. I am not arguing the MU is better, but that the difference between them is much smaller than the placement suggests.

Much the same as was the case last year...the disparity between MU and Washington was razor thin..I believe Pomroy had us at 26 and Washington at 27 last year..entering the game.
We actually are a few spots better on Pomroy...and in my view Pomroy is a god...far and away the best site for predictions/rankings..
