Title: Indiana State
Post by: KipsBayEagle on March 14, 2011, 10:46:20 AM
Anyone watch them this year, know anything about them?  Do they have any shot at knocking off cuse?

I've seen a few "experts" pick them for the upset but most are going with Syracuse.

They are a hustle team that can shoot from the outside.  (ISU is where I have one of my masters degrees.)  I think Syracuse, if they show up, should throttle them.  However, if they have one of their games where they "fade away" ISU could stay with them.

Larry Bird is a good shooter.  Is he still playing at ISU?

That's the last time I saw ISU play...

Wasn't that impressed with them when I saw them play Missouri State a week ago... they have that transfer from Iowa, pretty good player.

"Larry Bird isn't walking through that door any time soon"

I will be shocked if Cuse doesnt win handly. They are definitely not a Ohio type team from last year who knocked off Gtown.

NOPE.

Just like MU had no chance of making the tourney, right?

Well, if I can finally play some revisionist historian here; based on the fact that even with us beating PC (a MUST win, I don't think I was in the minority thinking that) AND West Virginia, the committee still had us as "last six in," which I think is absurd, but that's the fact.  Doesn't take too much of a  logical leap (hopefully, JJJJJ, you have SOME) to conclude that had we lost to PC in the first round, we would not be in.

Again, I don't think this was too radical a concept--posting that the crappy way we were playing down the stretch, the 9-9 conference record, and losses piling up--that some people should be a bit more realistic.  You know, the people that were saying that even if we lost to Providence, we'd still be in.  Clearly (and again, I was not in the minority about this) we needed to beat PC AND West Virginia.  We did that.

By the way, put your money where your mouth is and pick Indiana State.  In fact, go ahead an put a few sheckles on them.  Syracuse is getting 11.5, CHIEF.

Hah, alrright, Chief. I have no doubt in my mind that Cuse will win that game. More just poking fun at you making a fool of yourself on this board about a week ago.
