All in all, not the worst path ever. Xavier is good, not great. We've beaten Cuse already. And UNC only has 2 top 50 wins...and looked pretty shaky the entire ACC tourney. I wouldn't be shocked with a first round exit or an elite eight run, honestly. We've shown we can beat, and lose to, anyone.
Syracuse unnerves me. Sure, we beat them, but that was at home, we usually have trouble with the zone, and Melo's looked useful of late. As far as UNC, sure they get down, but they come back most of the time, and we're pros at giving up leads :(

So true. I think Cuse could make a run at Final Four, or better. I think they can match up athleticaly with UNC...and Joseph could give UNC fits.
However, they gotta get through MU first!! :)
Don't sleep on Indiana State, those kids can ball. Love 'em, especially at +11.
If we get through Xavier, the Cuse game will be really tough but obviously its winnable being a conference oppenent and with Cuse knack for taking really dumb shots some game.
However, if we get to the Sweet 16(long ways away), UNC is a god awful match up for us. Absolutly terrible. Im praying Washington beats them and we would get another crack.
Let's hope we can upset Xavier first.
I'd rather play Syracuse first and skip X all together. For a smaller Jesuit school, recently they have been way more competitive in the touney than we have. They have alot of size on there roster. I know we can play well, but our guard play holds the key.

Won't we be favored?

Not when it's a home game for them.

They're a 6, we're an 11. That's enough to call it an upset in my book.

I would be more concerned if we were playing in the same session as OSU. Since we are not, I think the concern about their "home away from home" is overrated. Will they travel for the game? Some will, but I don't think that will be a difference maker. The Cleveland fans may be indifferent to them. Will Cuse and MU fans cheer for each other?
It's not like this is the large public university - ala Utah State and Washington.

Good idea.
Someone go and be our ambassador on the 'Cuse forums. Let them know that we'll cheer for them if they cheer for us in the 1st round!

I would disagree. They are a poor shooting offensive team that likes to push tempo, which will help limit our defensive deficiencies. UNC is good defensively, but don't play a lot of zone, which is again beneficial to us. I don't really see where we match up that poorly with them.
