Yes. I'm looking ahead. I'm not on the team, so I'm allowed to.
My comment in another post got me thinking...
Which 2 or 3 seed do you guys NOT want to have to face?
Per ESPN...
Duke, UNC, SDSU, Texas*, BYU, Florida, Purdue
*Projected right now.
I would LOVE to see BYU. Let Jimmer get his...and I think our athletic ability on offensive end is enough to bury them.
I don't know a ton about SDSU - if anyone does, please share.
Duke would be tough...although they are different team without Kyrie...Nolan Smith scares me tho.
I think Texas, Florida and Purdue would be the toughest match-ups for us...Just my opinion from watching them on TV once a week or so.
What do you guys think?
I just want to see us play inthe second round.
We're a very long shot to beat any 2, with the possible exception of BYU if they can grab a 2. If there was one team I definitely would not want to face, it would be Ohio State. They are balanced and can really shoot the three. If we're even playing a 1 or 2 seed, we will have had a successful tournament.
I want nothing to do with UNC, Texas and possibly Florida. Everyone else I would take my chances with.
I agree with those that say Ohio State. Just curious, what does Northwestern do that gives Ohio State such problems? I haven't really watched the games these two have played, but Northwestern has done well against them twice.
Like others have said, I hope we just get to the second round. I think with the right draw we can make it into the second weekend.
I've been to a number of SDSU games this year. They are long and athletic up front, but not a lot of beef. DJ Gay is a nice point guard, but after that, they are average in the back court. I think we'd have our problems up front, but may be a step quicker at both guard positions.
You don't want any part of BYU. Jimmer is the real deal. You saw what happen last night against the Ville? Jimmer doesn't miss.
Texas ....an extraordinary defensive team
I'd like to not play a team that can shoot the 3 ball well.

There current team also got waxed by UNM and barely beat TCU. No davies means lots of fun for Otule, Gardner, Crowder and JFB down low.
Yep, and we just lost to Seton Hall.

Thanks for playing.

I would take Seton Hall over BYU in Newark any day of the week.
I assume we're talking "third round" since we'll likely match up against a 6 or 7 seed in the second round.
In that case... I don't want any other team except Purdue. I want to boiler-down in the third round because I'll be going downtown to watch Marquette throw down at the United Center against those clowns from that town somewhere around the part of Indiana that surrounds the nudist colony grounds.
It depends on whether we win or lose. I love beating Big Ten teams and hate losing to them.

Are you counting the play-in games as the first round? Otherwise the only way to match up against a 6 or 7 in the second round is to be a 2 or 3 seed. As a likely 8, 9, 10, or 11 we'll be facing a 1, 2, or 3 in the second round.
I think you now mean the 3rd round. ;)

Third Round is the new Second Round. Play-in games are now called First Round games. Marquette will likely be a "bye" team in this year's tournament.
Just think of the new lingo should this thing ever go to 96.
