Title: New Bracketology 3/11
Post by: lessthannick11 on March 11, 2011, 07:59:17 AM
Has us as a 10 seed vs UNLV in the Tulsa group. Round 2 matchup with Texas. Like the 10 seed, would rather have Butlers #10 spot ( #2 BYU in the 2nd round, but a first round matchup with Georgetown)

Anything can happen in March...just look at Northern Iowa vs Kansas last year or George Mason a couple years ago. Texas doesn't scare me like they did back at the end of January/start of February.

Any 10 is better for us than any 8 or 9.

You never know until you see the match up, but the best bet for MU would likely be an 11 seed. Unless they allow them to play in Chicago, I guess I don't see them dropping that low.

Got to agree, Wiz, an 8 or 9 leads to immediate trouble (although we had a good game vs. ND, who looks like a 1, but they didn't have everybody healthy and it was in MKE). A 10 seems better (and more likely).

I'd like an 11 seed as well.  We can beat 6 seed teams.  Plus if we win we get the 3 seed next.

Being a 10 makes you a 7 in terms of who you have to face next.  Would rather play any 2 than any 1.  I like our chances against to advance with a win over any 7.

You hate to lose to the 'Ville, but we might find ourselves in a much better position as a result.

Agree 11 would be best. I'd be fine with a 10. Don't see us getting a 9 unless seeds are moved around for scheduling, which would suck.

Rick Barnes coaches them, too.  So again, wouldn't mind that at all.

Texas normally wouldnt scare me but their length is very scary and they have a wonderful defense. They are a more talented Cincy and we saw t hat.

I guess if we draw fouls like capable we could get htem in foul trouble. If we get Thompson, Hamilton and Johnson rotating out in foul trouble, then we could win.

Lunardi updated his bracket this morning, we're up to a 9-seed now playing George Mason in the first round in Cleveland. No surprise that Ohio State is the second round opponent.

With Lighty shooting 3's...and Sullinger commanded double teams...don't like the second round match up...unless we can run it on them.

I don't think we need to be scared of any opponent.  This team has been tested and has already played probably 3 teams that will be number 1 or 2 seeds.  And probably some 3s, 4s and 5s as well.  I think we could certainly beat anybody; as long as they play smart and hit some threes.

I just want to see what it feels like to get INTO the second round.   ;)

I just want them to guard the 3 pt line better. I am tired of watching wide open threes

BU came back strong in the second half, was a fun game to watch. Bit of a weak foul with 2 seconds left to put BU on the free throw line, but Stony Brook had plenty of chances to close them out and just couldn't do it.

Congrats to them, glad that Hazel is going dancing. Though he didn't have a big day today, he was an important part of their run through the America East tournament. Their reward, however, will likely be a spot as a 16-seed. Though I suppose that gives him a decent chance of playing against Big East competition despite transferring from Marquette :)

Sports BIGAMY time for the lab_warrior.  Both undergrad (Marquette) and grad (BostonU) IN THE TOURNAMENT.  Awesome.  Although Marquette >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BU.  Always.
