JDuquaine is right. This Marquette team, which was bad from the free throw line at the start of the season, has gotten worse as the season has progressed.
How does one make sense of that?
Even our best shooters are unreliable from the line.
There's no point in practicing your free throws. Didn't you learn that by now? Coach says so.
Yes, he also runs an offense that specifically relies on good free throw shooting to function, but...
If we win, it's in spite of, not because of...

It's been good to have you around the past few games.

Remember, Buzz does not allocate practice time for FT's. That allows more time to practice defending the three.
In drills, to win the drill, the winning team must make a free throw with the other team at the line. They do this every drill, every practice. They don't give everyone balls and watch them stand at the line shooting free throws. That does note man they do not shoot them.
This complaint is really getting old and stale.
65 percent is right around average...we made 7 more than them, and its been revealed recently...Buzz does them have practice FT's. Don't post when you aren't informed.
wow, jduc, silverback and avenue all in one thread.
hey boys, we're only down 5. ::) ::)
It is almost worth it to see us not play well. I have missed Willie so much the last couple of days.

Coming from a guy who gave up on the team a week ago....don't talk.
Aside from Jae's troubles, we are not too bad at the line.
As you can see I'm a new member, I guess I should have went back and researched the previous 400 post before asking a stupid question eh?
And even if this post is "beat" why reply then? Nothing better to do?
Next post will be positive I promise! :)

Cadougan is not good, especially for a guard. DJO has moments where he mentally twists himself and struggles from the line. Other than that, the shooters are respectable. Gardner and Fulce may be our best FT shooters.

Add Willie to this list - and you have 4 Debbie Downers. Must be really fun to be a fan from their perspective!!
Gardner and Fulce may be our best FT shooters.
+1
Agree, I think our bigs shoot better than our guards. Put in Otule and Gardner when the game is on the line at the end!

I am guessing you were responding to my post. My post was not addressed to yours. It was the complaint that MU does not practice FT's, not your openning post.

My apologise sir.

Free throws??? how about defending the three?????
Announcers just said free throws are keeping us in the game - we are 16 for 25 which is 64 %. What is wrong with them? That sucks.

A week ago, we'd lost 2 games, and were in a position that if we'd lost to PC, we would have been out. I pointed that out. So yeah, I wouldn't define that as "giving up"--and I'll keep talking. Thanks.

They meant our 17 made FTs versus Lousiville's 4.
is there a more pointless thread than one about FTs after 3 games in as many days for a team that plays at as fast a pace as anyone in the country and have been missing badly rather than just a bad %?
Came up on the team a week ago?
That's exactly what I said! :)
Good job in the tourney Marq, now to the most important tourney and the only one that really matters.
