Title: The most NCAA Tournament-obsessed schools
Post by: drewm88 on March 10, 2011, 04:24:39 PM
Deadspin linked to this today--somebody looked at program revenues/spending per student, attendance, and spending on restaurants/bars/travel during the NCAAs. They ranked the top 32 schools and put it into a bracket. MU ranks 3rd (largely based on our high program revenues and expenses I assume.) That puts us in the Final Four of their bracket, which brings up painful memories.

Our bar revenue doesn't change during MM, vs. Kansas where it increases by 85%... interesting.

At least we beat Wisconsin.  Always good to see that.

Was gonna' mention that - not a bad bracket beating UCLA in the first round (of 32), Wiscy in the sweet 16, and Gtown in the elite eight.

To the original post, while we're not in the top 5 for attendance - our average attendance gets us to a top level too - much better than most schools.

That's because Wisconsin as a state drinks so much already.

That's because we can't go to bars any more than we already do.
