I think this team plays real inspired and hungry tonight due to the pain from that last 'Ville game. I think we win by 5-10 points as Ville ends up shooting not that well from the field. I think this program right now and its fans is finally experiencing some good luck after all these gut-wrenching losses the last few years and I think MU makes a run to the BET title game. They got a favorable draw and I feel it's our time to shine baby!
I'm usually a huge optimist, but I think everyone here is getting too optimistic.
Nonetheless, I hope we destroy UL!
I am optomistic because as of last Saturday, so many here were telling me that MU would not even be playing on Thursday. House money from here on out.
That there feeling you got, sure it ain't just gas?

That's true - I hope the team plays loose because of it. I guess I'm worried they'll be too focused on revenge and push too much, rather than just doing what they do best.
...unless revenge is what they do best ;D
I'm usually pretty cautiously optimistic, but I just have a real good feeling about MU right now and it's not so much because they're playing just lights out, but moreso they look so loose and not tight and that goes a huge ways towards success. As much as Louisville legs will be fresh tonight I think it's still a little disadvantage not having at least one game under your belt when playing in the BET. And this is why I think so many of the teams with the double bye lost their first game last year and lost like Pitt did today already.
Also I don't know how it will factor in, but Louisville has fresh legs. We'll beon our third game in three days.
Last year in the BET, we were gassed in our third game and got whooped by Georgetown.
Hopefully this will be different.

Depth was an issue last year that wasn't this year. Especially since we were more of a jump shooting team last year.
The legs did not effect UCONN today. I don't think it effects us tonight either.
Should be a good challenge for our defense, Louisville is more potent on O than WVU. I'm pretty sure P. Knowles can hit a three point shot too.

Yeah, that guy looks like a 90% 3-point shooter every dam Louisville game I watch. It's like he doesn't miss.

That's a good point. Buzz also did a great job of getting bench guys decent minutes yesterday.
Now that we are firmly in, we need to keep winning. I think we are firmly entrenched in 8/9 seed land -- and we need to get off that line and into 6/7 land if possible. I had been hoping to limp in with a 10/11, then play like we have the last two nights once we were in the tourney. It's house money, but I'm a greedy capitalist pig and want more!!!

Fresh legs didn't do much for Pitt. Pomeroy has Louisville as favored to win with a 60% certainty which means he gives us a 40% chance, higher than the chance he gave us against WVU. (around 34%)
Agree with Freeport...methinks we are a 9 seed right now. Of course, with 11 Big East teams that could get bumped around, but I'd love to move up to a 7, which I think a win tonight could do.
I think Louisville will have fresh legs, but we will be comfortable in the Garden in our 3rd game in 3 days, confident, and loose as we are playing with house money. I think those factors make the 3rd game vs. a double-bye thing a wash.
I honestly feel we have a 50/50 chance tonight. Would be great to pull it off and avoid an 8/9 seed, but win or lose I feel great about making the tournament, regardless of seed, for 6 straight years.
Ring out ahoya!
Jimmy is the only one who played over 30 minutes in both games. Buzz did a great job of keeping unneeded minutes off of our legs

If the BE does get 11 teams in, the seed lines will change dramatically. The NCAA tries to avoid a 1st or 2nd round match-up within conference. Pretty sticky with 11 teams and we could be an 8/9 and move to a 6/7 or 10/11.
MU is getting 4 points tonight and the over/under is 142.
Well in the third game last year, Greg Monroe killed us 23/13/7. We simply could not match up with him. We can match with Louisville. Their big guys aren't as good, and Otule is healthy.
I'm not worried about us being fresh. We got minutes out of so many guys yesterday, Cadougan, Gardner, and Blue all gave us double digits in both of the first two games. And while Williams isn't eating a lot of minutes, Jae seemed to burn out when he was playing 30+ a night, and now he's getting 25-28. Hopefully that extra rest can keep him fresh.
I'm nervous about tonight. Louisville always scares me because they've torn out our souls so often before. But we owe them one after January 15. If we win tonight, honestly, I can accept pretty much whatever comes from here on out. But in terms of this tourney, it's all fallen perfectly for us. All three teams that advanced today have lost to Marquette this season. And we had leads on both ND and UConn that should have been enough to get wins. If Buzz keeps the boys well-rotated and we win tonight, there's honestly no reason we can't win this thing from the freaking 11-seed.
Hate seeing threads like this bumped after we lose...hope that's not the case with this one
