I just want to beat WVU
Give me a back to back over WVU and UL and I'd be cool with an early exit from the NCAA.
Call me greedy. I want both. Beat WVU AND L'ville, then go on a nice run in the NCAAs.

Yeah, let's get greedy. We suffered for the last 3 years or so with gut-wrenching losses in do or die games. It's time for some good karma.
I would sure as hell love to beat WVU and Ville, but if I had to choose I would much rather take a sweet 16

Really? You don't care about the NCAAs? I do. By a long shot. Not even close. The NCAAs are what you play for.

+1
I want to beat WVU, Loserville & ND + at least a sweet 16 run!
we have a favorable side of the BE bracket, the two teams I wanted to avoid going into the tourney was st. johns and Pitt. We beat West va and Im sure the players really want louisville
SJU and Pitt are good, but I feel we can beat them. Our biggest whupping is gone in Seton Hall
First round NCAA win > Second round BET win
No one remembers second place. WVU would be a nice continuation. But unless we follow it with wins over Louisville, The Dirty Irish, and Pitt (or UConn, 'Cuse, etc) I'd rather a Sweet 16.

Yes, yes, yes. Why do we even need to have this conversation? The tourney is always the end goal, the BEast tourney is merely a means (albeit a very exciting one) to that end.

No kidding
I'll take losing vs WV without question if the end result was MU making the Sweet 16 or further.
Outside of actually winning the Big East Tournament, i don't really care all that much whether we advance further over the next few days so long as we win at least one/two games in the big dance.

First round NCAA win > Second round BET win
I agree! A second round NCAA win would turn this season into a good one as a whole. I'd be quite satisfied with a first round NCAA win and a very strong game in the second round. The BET is just peanuts to me compared to the Big Dance.
I don't think anyone quite realizes how wide open this year is in the NCAA tournament. With a weak bubble and an upset or two mixed in there, Marquette has the capabilities to make a deep run in the tournament if the matchups are right.
There are only a select few teams that seriously worry me and with a little luck, you never know. Maybe I'm alone here but I'd never take two wins in the BEAST tournament if I absolutely KNEW we had no shot to make a run in the NCAA tournament.... not this year with the parity there is (just think we beat the current number 4 team in the country by 22 at home and also beat #19 on the road).
Not saying Marquette can do this on a regular basis but who knows?? Anybody can get hot at the right time.
Jimmy is playing great ball. If DJO can stay hot we can play with anyone.

+1 - Give me an NCAA Sweet 16 and I don't care if WVU blows our doors off. Personally I think deep Big East tourney runs hurt teams come NCAA time as the wear and tear of 4 games in 4 days is significant.

That's what I call keeping it real. You're comparing two possibilities that we're definitely going to have. And I agree. One and done in the NCAA is definitely too much of a quickie.
A few nice BET wins probably moves us up a seed or two in the NCAA, which potentially makes life a little less hard...not that things are ever easy in the NCAA.
The key is to win or lose just enough as to not be an 8/9 seed.
I don't think a Big East Tourney championsionship and a NCAA Championship are too much too ask...
GO MARQUETTE!!
