Wanted to put this in the Superbar because it doesn't really pertain to MU hoops, but I tell you...if there's one guy who I think compares to McGuire as far as personality/character, being a regular guy, and not taking himself too seriously it's Lou Carneseca. The guy is a national treasure. Happy to see him during that halftime segment with Lavin (who I also like). Anyway, just my two cents.
Being in the Big East is beyond great.
Loooooie is awesome.

I agree....we interviewed him 12 or 13 years ago when we retired Al's number. He, Ray Meyer, Dick Vitale, etc...all participated in some video vignettes for Al that we played at the retirement ceremony and during the game. What a delightful man.
PS. Lenny, I saw the other thread was locked...touche! "Only" is most definitely an absolute. Touche, touche.
Great coach, but NOT McGuire.
He's not slick enough in my book and he doesn't have the intense scowl McGuire had.
Affable, sure.
Best sweaters ever.
How old is that cat? Gotta be a virtual fossil by now.
