He said on twitter that mu needs two wins to be a lock.
Probably true. If they win tonight, are they in? Probably? Who knows. But if they win tonight and beat WVU, then they are a lock, which means no need to sweat on Sunday. I'll be sweating unless that happens so he's probably right.
Maybe he has something against Jesuits?
maybe he is just the same ignoramus that he always has been.

+1...although I won't be sweating too much after a win tonight.

I wont sweat after tonight. But I still want to win a few more thats forsure.
Villy's lose has just made MU a lock, they have lost like 7 out of 9 and 5 straight losing to
Rutgers and South Florida, bad loses. They will be worrying the rest of the week. The other
point is the fans on this board state that Buzz should be fired, blah, blah, etc. how about the
great Jay Wright, how is his coaching lately?
agree we need to beat WVU

Gottlieb thinks he's almighty now because he's doing P90X and is all ripped up like DJO.
Did he write that himself or did he steal it from his roommate :)

So who gets the
worst coach of the year award? Tom Izzo? Frank Martin? Scott Drew? Mark Few? Brad Stevens? Jat Wright? Mike Andseron?
Looking at multiple other teams on the bubble and that there hasn't been any rash of upsets in small conference tournament games, i really can't envision where Marquette isn't already in after tonight's win.
I won't be sweating Selection Sunday much at all, regardless if we lose to WV, barring some total fluke where Marquette got destroyed in the game or a key guy on the team like Butler or DJO got injured.

Scott Drew gets my vote. Lot of talent returning and some talented newcomers. And they disappointed big time. Plus he seems like a douche so that bumps him up.

Whichever one has the most juco transfers on their roster.
How about Tubby Smith? Minnesota looked like they could do something this year but they have completely under performed. Hard to give it to a guy like Stevens when their best player goes to the NBA.

I did not see the game. Dis Villanova blow a 19 point lead in the last 5.5 minutes?
And who would you rather have: Jay or Buzz? You would pick Buzz--I would pick Dukiet.

No. But in what was essentially a home game they did blow a 16 point halftime lead and lose to 15th place South Florida. I think it was their 5th straight loss and 7th in their last 9.
In Jay We Trust.

Here's a post by someone who gets Gottlieb!
Maybe Gottlieb just holds strong to the meaning of the word "lock". Everybody throws that word around, but what he's saying is that they remove any shred of doubt about whether they are in with one more win tonight.

+1, Tubby might be GA Tech's coach next year

No, they really don't. Lots of people, like you, talk about how other 'fans' want buzz fired. This is a myth. VERY few fans want to see Buzz gone next year. We made a poll just to shut down this kind of talk. I think the vote was around 135 to 2.k

Tubby lost Al Nolen to an injury with 11 games left and had Devoe Joseph bail on his team in January.
They went 2-9 in the games Nolen missed and were 15-4 with him.
Edit: My awful grammar.

And Smith rejected the ESPN rumor that Georgia Tech was going to buy out coach Paul Hewitt's contract and hire Smith by saying: "Why would I be interested in that job? I'm not going anywhere. My wife likes it here, I like it here, and I'm going to finish my career here."
I don't personally think Doug adds much to a conversation about basketball. He mostly reiterates what other people say or said. That said, ESPN seems to like the guy.
