Chicos to post 5000 words about how great IU will be next year in 3 - 2 - 1 ...
You need to give a coach 5 years to evaluate - in Crean's case at MU, in his 4th year (or should we say Wade's 2nd year) he took us to a Final Four. His 5th and 6th seasons NIT's with 2 pro players on the squad in Diener and Novak.
The results at IU thus far have been pathetic - but the resident Crean defender - can justify this performance all the day long.
As we know from experience at MU - unless TC has a world class player such as D-Wade - on his roster, his teams will struggle to win NCAA games, much less NIT games.
Whatever the case, TC seems to be way behind his pace of performance he achieved at MU - a program which was pretty far in the tank from Mike Deane. In fact, I'm not sure walking into the MU program was really that much easier than what TC inherited in Indiana.
Who would have predicted in April 2008 that Indiana would be DEAD LAST in a weak Big Ten in Crean's 3rd year. Yep, he is going to make them forget about Bobby Knight.
I agree that patience is important for IU. However, this is unacceptable as a basketball fan. A program like that in the basement after three years is a joke.
They better be careful of fostering an environment where they will accept any and all excuses with Crean.
I predicted that Indiana would not win three games in the Big Ten. I stand corrected. That being said, the product on the floor this year was far superior to last year. There are some glimmers of hope. However, if they do not win six or more games next year, Tom Crean will be on the hot seat and likely have no extension and in effect be a lame duck coach. His style is not working and as the Shumpert recruiting showed, having D Wades cell phone number only goes so far to get a kid to commit. Indiana's program is dead as far as a national power goes. The guy they need is the guy now at Arizona.
C'mon guys all of their starters were injured. They did pretty well with the lack of personnel. At least their fans got to storm the court in... celebration.

Their issue is that they gave him a ten year deal. They are going to have to eat a lot of cash if they want him gone.
There is a fine line between being patient with a coach and creating a culture of acceptance where any and all excuses are accepted.
2008 was tough, player X was hurt, etc. are going to get old to a lot of people. Their administration needs to hold him a little bit more accountable than "wait till next year" in my opinion. Excuses are becoming the norm. You can't allow him to say that they need to wait to develop Zeller for a year or two before they can start competing with Iowa, Nebraska, and Penn State for the best of the bottom third.
Will a new banner be unveiled in Assembly Hall?
