Are we NIT bound or NCAA bound?
When its all said and done, this team will be in the NCAA
NIT unless Marq wins at least 2 BE tourney games
I think we absolutely need a win Tuesday to get an NCAA bid. That said, I don't think it matters because there may not be more than six or seven teams in the field of 68 that we can defeat at a neutral site.

Agreed flash. I'm an optimist, but I think our resume is underrated compared to other teams on the bubble.
it'd be nice to keep the NCAA streak going at least as a selling point to recruits.

Would either result surprise you? For me, I could see either result happening and could justify it. I get that we have all these close games and no bad losses...but we have a TON of losses. We have some good wins, but several have a bit of an *...Calhoun didn't coach in the UCONN game (that's a big deal), ND was missing one of their best players.
Nothing would surprise me....the way we played today and the way we played against Cincinnati at home, that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in my and I'm sure the committee would like to know why we seem to be struggling the last few games. 60 points at home in our last home game? Totally embarrassed tonight against a Seton Hall team with 6 Big East wins coming in? This game scared me tonight, prior to the season I had us losing it, but I didn't expect to be completely dominated.

Agree.
We won't do anything in the NCAA if we do get in. But getting a bid is still a pretty big deal. NIT is beyond irrelevant now.

You do realize that even if we are the last at large team selected we ill be a 12 seed and have 20 teams seeded below us. To suggest that we COULD defeat none of the other 47 at large teams (we've already beaten UCONN onthe road) and COULD only beat 6-7 of the 13,14,15,16 and play in teams on a neutral court is ridiculous.
Lenny, it's not ridiculous at all. We beat UConn when it didn't have its coach. The way this team is playing now, would you think we have a great shot at beating any of the Top 50 teams at a neutral site? And at least half of the 12 through 16 seeds will be better than us. Open your eyes.
Here's an honest question for the honest question thread: Will it be better for this team in the long run if they end up in the NIT instead of the NCAA? 1. Leaves a bitter taste in the returning players' mouths, leading to a more driven, dedicated squad next year. 2. Chance to build confidence for next year by going on a run (we all know that's not happening in the Dance). It's obvious that in the short run we all want to make the Tourney, it just might be one of those things that a year from now we identify as the spark that got this team going.
If we end up making the tourney and going to the Sweet 16 I will gladly eat my words with some "Shut the hell up you pessimistic dick" sprinkled on top.

I don't think going to the NIT would help this team next year at all. I mean if you have had 2 games to LOCK this NCAA bid up and you choke this bad, what more motivation do you need? I know if I was on the team and knew if we win one game were in, that would be the biggest motivation to me personally. But this team deserves the NIT this year.
I don't think it really matters if they make a deep run in the NIT v. losing in the first round of the NCAA. By the time the next year rolls around, it rarely matters.
Maybe UWM will carry the torch for Milwaukee in the NCAAs this year. They are leading with 15 minutes to go in their game. If they win, they would play Butler for the title.
I'm sticking to my NCAA 9 seed prediction.

You are joking aren't you? 19-15 will get us in--only the NIT!

And how, pray tell, do we go 19-15? Is the Big East tournament now double-elimination?
