Title: Can Jae hit a FT?
Post by: KC_Warrior on March 05, 2011, 06:41:17 PM
For some reason, he's really become quite bad at the free throw line.

ever since Buzz decided he wasn't good enough to start, he has done nothing.

It has nothing to do with him not starting.  He's lost his legs

Given his performance not starting, would you give him a starting job again?

Wasn't it Jay Bilas who voted him BE newcomer of the year? Bet he would like to take that vote back!

He does appear to have hit a wall.

What are you suggesting, that he went on strike or had his confidence shattered because he wasn't playing the first 2.5 minutes of the game? Weak.

You would have to ask him, Lenny. The stats don't lie. Maybe Buzz knew he had hit a wall.

He scored nearly 30 pts. on New Years day against WVa. I thought he was going to have a huge season, but he just disappeared. Are teams defensing Jae in a way that has made him a non-factor? Or did the Big East just grind him down physically? Some have said he's lost his legs. I'm sure JC was nothing like this.

Hah, I hadn't even paid attention.  So that shoots down the argument that if he started he'd have better numbers.

The stats don't lie? You're right, and in his first three games not starting he AVERAGED a double double (10.3 pts, 11 rebounds). Sure looks like he has hit the wall these last two games. But why would you use that to take an inaccurate, cheap, passive aggressive shot at Buzz?

How is Buzz not starting him a cheap shot at Buzz? You cannot argue that Jae's stats did not go down the tube when he started coming off the bench.

Yes you can and yes I did. Jae AVERAGED a double/double his first 3 games off the bench. Only in the last two games did his stats "go down the tubes" and in one of those (tonight's) he was a starter.

Compare his stats before and after Buzz first took away his starting spot and tell me how they stack up. Other than the blowout against Providence has been nowhere near the same player.

In the 3 games after he began coming off the bench he had 12, 12, and 7 points and 9, 11 and 13 rebounds. So his points were down slightly, and his rebounds were up. His last 2 games were miserable, one as a starter and one in which he entered the game at the 17:30 mark of the first half.

What's really concerning with Jae is the really dumb fouls on defense like fouling 3-point shooters, and just his lack of overall play on that end. Looks like he has no clue out there at times to be honest. Wonder if his lack of offensive porduction hs causing him to lose his focus on defense.
