Now I have mentioned this a few times before on threads, but seeing a lot of other threads has made me sense people are in the same boat.
We really do not care how hot or cold he is......We want DJO to SHOOT. Its that simple. If we go out and lose a game because DJO went 3-16 from the field, I honestly would not be ticked off at him. He is our most talented player and best shooter by far......let the man shoot whenever necessary. Allow him the chance to take over like against Uconn. Hes got that stop and step back 2 pointer down to a tee.
Let the man fire shots whenever he wants and I gurantee he has more 8-10/16 shooting performances for 20 plus pts, then he does 3/16. We are losing games anyways, so why not live and die by your best shooter for once?
It's especially frustrating when the kid splashes his first three shots, then disappears for the rest of the half. He needs that Ray Allen/Reggie Miller gene where if he gets it going, KEEP BOMBING.
What I really want is for DJO to WANT to shoot. His hesitance drives me crazy, and I'm sure it drives JFB crazy too.
That pump fake move is fooling no one. Uses it all the time. Last year, I don't remember seeing that or at least enough to notice it.
Honestly, DJO spent more time last night pump faking more than anything. I've said it several times this year that this team passes up the best shot available way too often on their offensive possessions. It's so dam frustrating to watch.
I wanted Butler to shoot more last night. He passed up a number of wide open jumpers, like the one during the possession with less than a minute to go in the game.
I think DJO is good, but Butler is by far the most talented and creates the most mismatches. He just doesn't get involved in every game like he should.
The lack of urgency was somewhat disconcerting. There didn't seem to be a realization that we're down, we gotta get some points on the board and time is SHORT. Interminable passing (that didn't accomplish anything) with people passing up open shots, then a poor shot as the clock ticked down.
Yeah, were always passing up good shots. If we lose a game because we miss a lot of good looks I cant get too upset because we had our chances just didnt convert. I can however get pissed when were too scared to take the good open looks and instead make a dumb turnover or take a dumb shot just after.
Just shoot.
