Would Mayo really help the MU team, or is he living in his brothers shadow?
Thanks.
He is a proven scorer who can hit the outside trey. I am confident he could take over djo's role. Hes the real deal. Now if tokoto joins him we could be a real powerhouse!
His jumper looks "pure" as the highlights have him hitting nothing but net.
We need an outside scorer since the jumper has been suspect with this team at the G spot.
Thanks guys, I was thinking it's all hype since he's OJ's brother.
Very very optomistic if you think J.P. is coming to MU. I have my fingers crossed though!

Sounds like our boys could use some refresher training on hitting the G Spot

HAHAHAHA
Wondering why West Virginia is no longer on his list? He is from there and presumablt knows Huggins well. It was on his list before.

They're getting the Cliff Notes from Tyshawn.

Not really sure, but did find this thread on him at the WVU Scout site:

Seems like maybe they were trying to keep him around as a backup option or that they cooled on him for some reason.

Do we really need another outside scorer? Wehave DJO: supposedly JJones is one; Juan Anderson coming in; in two years Ferguson.
How highhly rated is this fellow?
Yes, we have DJO for one more year, but with Buycks leaving, MU needs another combo guard and he could play the point with DJO and Vander together in a 3 guard offense at times next year or swing over to the shooting guard.
The rankings don't matter. Go to Youtube and watch the video's to see what he can do. Pretty impressive.
Anderson isn't considered much of an outside shooter. In fact it is considered his biggest weakness. Another combo guard type is probably a good idea since it seems like a "pure" point isn't really available at this point. Of course it would be nice to get a big of some sort with the last scholie, but we are likely going to have to go the JUCO route.
Anderson is considered a Solid shooter but he is not a guard, or If he plays some 2 it will be down the road a few years. With Vander, JR, and Wilson all not considered major 3 point threats, or guys that can really score at high levels getting another guard in that can put the ball in the basket and can shoot it from Deep is very important. Mayo was boderline top 100 for 2010 and now he has been the best player on a prep team that has 2 of the top 25 player's from 2012 in Ledo and Birch. They also play a schedule at ND Prep that prepares you for the Big East. I know Rivals said after seeing him in Nov that they thought he would be in there final raknings.
kmw, everything I have read about Anderson is that he is more of a slasher and pull-up two point shooter but doesn't have consistent range from the outside.
I think that was the knock on him his Jr year is that he needed to extend his ramge. From the articles I have read this year he has been knocking down muliptle 3's a game for one of the best teams in Cal (Castro). Again he is a 6-7 small forward not many of that group would be considered Sniper's coming out of High School. I know at least one game I read he made 5 3's.
OK...cool. Good to know. The articles I have seen are from last summer.
A few articles from This season.
-But it was Anderson who really made his presence felt. He scored 10 points in the third that included a jaw-dropping NBA-range 3-pointer.
The third ended all tied up at 45.
No. 14 San Leandro (7-6, 3-2) took a 49-47 lead with a bucket from Hameed Ali (17 points) with 6:43 left in the game. Anderson hit a jumper and a 3-pointer that gave Castro Valley a 51-49 lead, a lead they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way.
3-point goals: Castro Valley 4 (Anderson 3, Knox). San Leandro 6 (Woods 4, H.Ali, Thompson).
-The Star: Castro Valley's Juan Anderson finished with a game-high 27 and showed off his shooting range with five 3-pointers.
-Castro Valley 87, Arroyo 43
The Star: Castro Valley's Juan Anderson, who hit seven 3-pointers in a 31-point effort.

Sounds a lot like Jeronne Maymon
It's good to see that JA has expanded his range from out, but I've got to say, the thing that I've been most impressed about when watching highlight tapes of him (and I do understand that they're highlights, so OBVIOUSLY we're going to see his absolute best footage) has been his vision and play-making ability.
I don't know that Juan can handle the ball well enough to be a "point forward", but with his ability to drive the lane, recognize the defensive shift and deliver the ball to the open man on the perimeter, presents a tremendous opportunity for a guy like Mayo, along with DJO, Jones, Crowder, etc, to drift to the corners and square up for wide open looks...
If we can snag Mayo and one more big man either for 2011 or 2012, this roster is going to shape up REALLY nicely for future seasons.

In that case, what does his father have to say?

My ignore button never works with warthog-driver; somebody always quotes his useless posts.
Juan Anderson came from a single parent family, he was raised by his mom.
