Good God am I sick about reading JP Tokoto and Dave and Busters. FYI, we are playing the villainous Cincy Bearcats tomorrow, on Senior night, with MAJOR NCAA tournament implications.
So why do we hate Cincy? Sound off!
1.) Nut punching
2.) THUGS, like Donald Little setting his roommate on fire.
3.) Witnessing Kenyon Martin block a ball into the 16 row of the student section.
Huggy Bear...... still.

Turn out the lights, Cincinnati coach Bob Huggins thought as he watched freshmen Dontonio Wingfield and Damon Flint jamming the baskets that sealed an 89-82 double-overtime victory over No. 22 Marquette in Milwaukee Sunday.
Oh yeah, the lights already were out.Huggins couldn't help but laugh when a power failure struck downtown Milwaukee after Cincinnati had overcome its third double-digit deficit.

Otherwise known as the Damon Key Contact Lens game.
I hate Cinci b/c they were worth hating. Sure they were rogue and all that other BS we get worked up about but at the end of the day I hated them b/c they were always in our way.
May 1995...
During a routine traffic stop, a policeman riding Cody, a 21-year-old quarterhorse, reported that UC center Art Long punched the 2,000 pound animal four times in its face. Teammate Danny Fortson was also reported as disorderly.
At the trial, defense lawyers claimed that Long was instead simply petting the horse, and that they were stopped because they had called the officer a derogatory name.
Both Long and Fortson were acquitted on the charges after a two hour jury deliberation.
June 2004...
Huggins was pulled over for drifting out of his lane late at night and he reportedly said to police, "Don't do this to me." He had slurred speech, red and watery eyes, and there was vomit on the driver's door.
Huggins told them he was on his way home after talking to recruits, and that he had a "couple" of beers, but he denied being intoxicated. When Huggins was asked what time he stopped drinking, the coach replied, "No, sir."
Officers also said he "staggered" out of the car and couldn't keep his balance during the sobriety test.
Asked to recite the alphabet from the letter "E" through "P," Huggins said, "E, F, G, H, I, K, L, N, Z," according to the police report, and counted from 62 to 52 when asked to count backward from 67 to 54.
Officers tried to give a breath analyzer test, but Huggins couldn't complete it, and was marked as a refusal the report said. He was arrested and brought to the police station, where his wife picked him up.
May 2003...
According to an affidavit filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court, forward Eric Hicks threw a beer bottle at a woman "in a sudden fit of rage." He struck her on the right side of the forehead, and opened a cut that required her to go to the hospital for stitches. Hicks was charged with a misdemeanor, and he spent one night in jail.
"I've had a number of meetings with Eric," said Athletic Director Bob Goin, "and I feel very good about his response and the remorse he's shown for what he did."
When teammate Armein Kirkland followed up with an assault misdemeanor of his own in October, Goin said, in classic UC style, "Misdemeanors doesn't mean anything to me anymore. I'm tired of misdemeanors."

Wasn't there a story about some thug and peeing in a bottle due to laziness? And, I'm not referring to F*ckin'.
Oh God... the power outage game. I remember that one well.
Watching the Bucks-Pistons game and saw Jason Maxiell. That brought the hate back.

That was the dude at UL that ended up at some school in texas. fat dude.
And I had (an otherwise not used) sink in my room in college to drain the main vein.
We crushed #2 UCONN in our first year in the Big East then laid an egg at home that weekend against Cincy. So I guess I hate them because they killed my high after a huge win in that instance. Obviously, I have utter disdain for their overall air of thuggery.

Yeah, he was a character.
Still, overall thuggery is somewhat in the past. Recent squads seems to have nice kids although some would say Yancy Gates is too nice and needs to get his thug on. Oddly no one seems to think West Virginia's kids are thugs now that Huggs is there.

Steve Logan and Donald Little stealing the CUSA regular season championship from us in the last minute at Cincy in 2002 (up 4 with 45 seconds left, Logan delivers a forearm shiver to Henry and nails a 3, Wade misses FT, Little hits a 15 fter with 2 seconds left). Then Jason Maxiell punching Cordell Henry in the junk during the CUSA tourney final 3 weeks later.
Anyone remember when the Cincy player tried to start the fight with the MU trainer during the homegame in 2004 too?
We hate them because they smell funny

I can remember that play as if it were yesterday (clinching fists).
Yeah, still the whole Huggy Bear era. I can't remember a team exuding dirty play more than they did.
They were a nemesis in Conference USA and playing at the Shoe was one of the toughest places to play in the nation - still serving alcohol in the campus arena?
I do not hate Cincy near as much as when Thuugy Bear was there. With the thugs and cons that he brought in, it was easy to hate them.
I hate Cincy for the 90's. Especially Feb. 27, 1997, Cincy beats us in the last home game I went to as a student. After the game, I went down and sat in the front row until the cleaning crew kicked me out, just being bummed-out that my time as a student was over.
Am I the only one who misses Huggins at Cincinnati?
These games are always much more fun with him there. How awesome would this game be if Huggy was on the sidelines and Cincy was in the top 10? It's still a big game, but with Huggy there it'd be that much bigger,
How great was it to beat Huggins and Cincy to win the 2003 C-USA title, or knock them off in 2002 when they were No. 4 in the country. Sure, there's been some heartache, but that only makes the high moments that much better.
I hate Cincy because they are evil. They must be destroyed.
Quote from: JerryWizig on March 02, 2011, 01:50:53 PMAm I the only one who misses Huggins at Cincinnati?
Nope. I'm glad that he's at least back in the conference at WVU, and it goes to show that like any true villain, the great ones never die, they just resurface when you think they're gone. He's like the Joker, Green Goblin, Q, Ben Linus, or Sideshow Bob. Still, the sequel is rarely as good as the original, and that's how I feel about Huggins at WVU. I still hate him, we all still know he's a scumbag that doesn't care about education or quality of character, but his players just aren't as evil as the Cincy days.
