Title: SotG
Post by: GGGG on February 27, 2011, 05:01:03 PM
Junior...double double in points and assists.

Honorable mention...JFB for his all around game and defense.  Otule kinda disappeared in the second half.

I'll agree with Junior but I think Otule is a close runner-up. Let's be honest this game was over at halftime anyway

Definitely Cadougan. 10 assists, 2 turn overs. Great all around game today. 6 rebounds, 2 steals. If we could get that consistently over the next 2 years we are going to be a tough team to handle

Gotta say Junior. Butler was also great, especially on the defensive end but I think Junior definitely deserves it after that performance.

Honorable Mention Crowder.  12 points 13 rebounds.  Two MU players with double/doubles.

Non Stud of Game - Buycks.  No points, 5 turnovers and his worst game in an MU uniform.

According to espn.com, Reggie Smith is 0-1 from the field.  He should get some consideration.

That would make nine different players with SoG.  Someone said at the beginning of the year we would have the most breadth of SoG's since MUScoop started it.  They were right.

TV guys gave player of the game to JFB, but I'd go with JR as SOTG. Monumental improvement by JR and Otule as the season has progressed.

I vote Junior, but I think it is hilarious Reggie made the box score. I have to watch closer

Yup, Junior. His first time. And nine different guys (including the Frozena fiasco) throughout the season. Interesting.

Thought Otule should get it but damn...ALMOST a triple double.

Junior, it's your day. Party like it's 2999.

Crowder's double-double with 12 pts, 13 rebounds was a good runner-up too.

Junior for posting the double double and playing aggressively.

Gotta like Crowder pulling down 13 rebounds that felt more like 23. Also, for better or for worse, he's currently our best point-forward in the press-break.

Also obviously love to see Otule come so far. Like junior, he's really worked hard to overcome injuries.

And I hope JFB gets some love for the text-book D on Brooks. I think most of the buckets Brooks did get were in transition (vs mano y mano vs EL JFB).

IMO Butler did a great defensive job on Brooks.  Took Providence out of what they wanted to do.  I think he deserves it.
