Notes from ESPN give one pause...
Suspended indefinitely from Midland College team in Nov. 2010...Released from letter of intent to Oklahoma State in Feb. 2011...
He was ranked 50 by ESPN in the 2009 high school class, he went to Midland when he failed to qualify academically f
or Oklahoma State. Hopefully, he was suspended by Midland for skipping practice in order to study.....
More stuff from the Okie State fan board.
He will not be eligible to play at OSU unless he graduates from JUCO. He was a non qualifier, which means he needs to graduate from JUCO to become eligible to play D-1 basketball.
He is still enrolled at Midland and allegedly taking classes. He needs 18 hours to graduate, and from what I understand he most likely will not graduate until the summer, if he does.
So we won't know if he is even going to be eligible to play at OSU probably until July.
I love this posters use of the word allegedly...
Johnson has been suspended a couple of months now. I have not read anything that sheds light on the reasons. One thing in his favor is that his Juco coach is keeping in touch with Karon and has not severed all ties. The bad thing is that this is about the 4th program in the last two years he has left or been dismissed from.
ooops!
No slap at the current head coach ... but given this kid's issues in the past, one wonders why would we want to recruit him ... unlike some of the others you mention, this kid's issues and past are no surprise to anyone.
Well, its not hard to believe that we've got a shot with this guy... the question is do we want to have a shot.....
Could he be the 2nd coming of Mbakwe?
Are we, in fact, interested in him?
