Hmmm... Wonder if that will hold up for the Demons?
do we want it to hold up?
Fire Jay Wright!
This just goes to show that nothing good can come from a kid who goes to prep school instead of coming out of a "traditional" high school
Seems like Nova shot their load early on in this season. Guess you gotta have bigs to win, huh?
Game. DePaul wins.
EDIT: Gamecast is bad. OT up 6. Said they won by 6.
I wonder if the 14 DePaul students there will rush the court.
DePaul loses in OT. Fischer with a 3 to tie with 6 seconds in regulation. Another situation where a foul by DePaul puts Nova on the line and DePaul up 3. Foul? Let it go? Turned out bad this time letting it go....

This year's DePaul team is much better than that disaster that beat us last year. Plus, Nova playing without Stokes. Still, Nova gets win.
Villanova won. Jay Wright should still be fired. He is not meeting expectations.
All road wins are not created equal. When you're playing the likes of DePaul and South Florida, a victory by less than 30 is indicative of poor coaching plain and simple.
Sarcasm overload today. Sheesh.

So then this year's Marquette team is much better than last year's since we beat a better DePaul team this year by 30? Love the logic involved with such ludicrous statements.

Let me help you here Ners. 1) That's not the logic I used or implied. 2) This year's DePaul team has been competitive at times...winning one game, losing to the vaunted WVU squad by 2, to Cincinnati by 3, beat UW-hyphen Milwaukee by 14. My guess is they pick up one more win this year.
In the meantime, let's take a quick look at DePaul in conference last few years

Just answer my question - if DePaul is so much better this year, as you say due to beating UWM, and a few close losses to WVU and Cincy and NOVA - how can this year's team..which you seem to think is not very good...blow out aDePaul by 30+. Is it fair to say then, that this year's MU team is better than last years?? NOPE - so let's not try to make excuses for NOVA only beating DePaul by 3 in OT. Had MU done the same..you'd be Numero Uno complaining about how pathetic that is. Much like you were about our victory over UWM.

ND is, without a doubt, better this year than they were last year. We crushed them at home this year and lost to them in OT at home last year. According to your logic, ND can't be better this year than they were last year, because this MU team isn't better than it was last year.

This isn't my logic - you'd be better taking this up with Chicos.

I can't seem to find where Chicos makes this a "this year's MU team vs. last year's MU team" debate. Could you help me out?

The point is it is ridiculous to make year to year comparisons to support arguments. I even posted by virtue of MU beating DePaul by 30 this year, does that mean this year's team is better than last year's? My answer? Nope.
The logic was flawed in the first place to rebut the original posters, "jay Wright should be fired" comment. If Chico's wants to claim that because DePaul is so much better this year, than they were last year - it is excusable for Jay Wright's 14th ranked Wildcats to only win by 3 in OT - fine - but when MU wins at UWM by small margins - hey, all of a sudden our team has major issues. Shortly after DePaul beat UWM by 14 - Chicos is on here posting about how even DePaul beat UWM by 14 - uh oh for Marquette.
Why some here cannot see the ulterior motive and agenda of CBB is beyond me - if there were none - the above type of double standards would not exist.

I'm not going to search it out, but Chicos has mentioned several times how MU only beat UWM by a small margin, as if it matters at all at this point in time.

I sure did. For the elite team from an elite conference playing in our city, the fact we had to hang on for dear life, especially with how poorly UWM was playing at the time, should be called out. It's not like UWM was on a roll during that time.
