Title: No fire in the belly in this years team
Post by: 79Warrior on February 15, 2011, 10:45:49 PM

This team does not play with any urgency. emotion is lacking. Perhaps this team really has no chemistry, I don't know. We sure act like we don't care. I am not sure what some of the koolaid drinkers are seeing, but I see a team that damn near choked away the game at USF, lose by 9 at Georgetown and now get beat by 12 at home. This team looks finished to me.

Hope always seems to spring eternal around here, but I would not blame anyone for saying the team looks dead and buried right now.

They almost look bored. I havent been able to say that of any Marquette team since the 04-05 team, who this team is resembling more and more by the day.

Play with some unnatural carnal knowledgeing emotion. There's no one on this team who could carry Lazar, Wes, or Dom's jock right now. Hell, I'm getting nostalgic for Ousmane Barro at this point.

The fire was extinguished by the Louisville last six minutes.  Since that loss the team has not been the same and appears devastated and stagnant in all aspects of the game.

It's strange. Some non-MU people have been telling me all year that MU always plays hard and they'll always be in games. Meanwhile, I watch them night in and night out and since the first test of the year with Duke have not seen a single ounce of leadership which always leads eventually to nights like this.

Tonight, they didn't even care. Did you see some of those passes? Did you see how Buycks and Butler caught some of those passes like they were team drills in June? Did you see the hung heads?

This team (and coach) is broken.
