Title: The difference between ranked and NIT
Post by: Tugg Speedman on February 13, 2011, 10:19:53 PM
Thoughts for a late Sunday night ...

If we won the Vandy game (made a stop at the end) and Louisville (one play anywhere in the last 5 minutes), and all else was the same, would we be ranked?  I say yes.

Instead we are one bad loss away from the NIT.

Is this season all about 1 play at Vandy and Louisville?  If we made those two plays, and everything else was the same, would we (this board) have a different view of this team?

Don't know if we'd be ranked or not, but the answer is probably.  Throw in not crapping the bed in the 2nd half @ ND and you've got a yes on both counts.  The rest of the games we were probably "supposed" to lose.

Just about every team can say the same thing. Its a game of inches. If the Giants had beaten Green Bay, perhaps they'd be Super Bowl champs.

Even better, if the Giants don't crap the bed against the Eagles... Green Bay is not super bowl champs

Even better, if your weakass Bears didn't lose 2 of 3 to the Packers, Green Bay is not Super Bowl Champs.

Further showing just how tight it is, at least in one prediction.  MU, last team in per the Dance Card through yesterday's results.
