Title: Stud of the game

I realize we played like absolute crap, but we did come back from 16 down and actually won a must-win Big East game on the road.

It might be a case of whip cream on a pile of sh*t, but we should have a stud of the game....A win is a win, especially in the Big East

Agreed.  Crowder's fade away three at the end was huge.

My vote goes to Fulce. His best game of the year, kept us alive early on, spark off the bench, and as a senior I think he deserves at least one SOTG before he graduates.

It should be Vander for putting up with all the idiots on this board ripping him a new one.

That's a good point too.  Some huge threes when we needed them.

Crowder was the stud.

Crowder was the stud.

Yeah, just like he was the stud of the Syracuse game, but the award went to a senior in Butler. I say we keep up with that and give it to the senior in Fulce. Maybe getting snubbed against 'Cuse helped inspire Crowder's part in our comeback, just to show us he deserved the SOTG. Snub him again, and imagine what he might do to Georgetown ;D

Ok, We don't usually open it up for voting, but the stud-chooser didn't make a choice, so I opened up a poll for stud (since I agree, every W gets a stud...).  My vote is Fulce for energy, but the options are Butler, Crowder, Fulce, and Blue (for energy...)

Please vote above...

I voted for Blue just to piss off Marquette65.

I voted Butler just because he had a tremendously solid all-around statline, which is often what SOTG is tied to.  12 points, team-high (tied with Blue) 6 rebounds, team-high (tied with Buycks) 5 assists, 2 steals, no turnovers.

5-13 for Butler

5-6 for Crowder

Yeah, that's the flaw.  A lot of those misses were on drives where Butler wasn't getting the benefit of the whistle, but I wouldn't disagree with Crowder or even Fulce from a purely statistical standpoint, either.

Agreed.  Crowder's fade away three at the end was huge.

He had two step back threes that were REALLY tough shots at the end.  Butler was big too.  I really think he is taking some ownship on this team and it seems like he is becoming a playmaker.  That three point play at the end was solid and he was a pest with the press.  Those step back threes were a thing of beauty (AND CLUTCH) so that tipped the scale in Crowder's favor for me.

I haven't read anything about this, but how about Otule coming up HUGE again with those blocks at the end.

I think Murf voted for a shorter rotation on SOTGs.

Butler had a great game, but i don't think we'd have won without Crowder's TWO step back treys

I listened to the first half of the first half on the radio; then tuned in after SFU made its 7-0 run at the start of the second half; then saw the last 5 minutes on crappy stream.  Was impressed by Jae's shots, but decided to go with Fulce since he must have done SOMETHING in that first half to get us close by halftime. Plus, I'd like to see him get SOTG once before he graduates.

Crowder...not even close.  I get that Fulce's energy was great, and Butler had a solid game, but Crowder won the game for us by shooting a very high percentage on timely/difficult shots.  My only problem was Buzz didn't get him more shots, but Buzz has certainly proven he knows a thing or two about coaching offense.  It was an off game for MU, and they didn't close well, but how great to see us come from behind to take a win.  I like that we're at a level where we can play like complete crap, on the road, and still win a game in the BEAST.  USF gave up on the game (you could just see it in the face of the coach and many players), I've never seen that out of MU.

Jae.  I'd put Otule on the list before Blue.

Alright, I was going to let it go until 200 votes, but since Crowder has a 51 point lead over fulce with only 43 votes to go, we'll call this a TKO.  Thanks for the help all!

(but also second KC2016 wanting to see Fulce get a SOTG before the end of the season).
