Judging from the front page of the JSOnline, we don't. UW and Marquette had very similar games last night. They both barely beat bad teams on the road. There's no reason that MU shouldn't be on the front page of the Urinal Sentinel instead of the Badgers. I don't hate the Badgers - I just want proper coverage for the local team.
You'll never get that kind of coverage. The great unwashed of this state count for too large of a fan base.
The MJS knows their market...and it contains more Badger fans than MU fans.

That includes their new sports editor.
Get used to it...if you havent already.
People still get newspapers? Weird.

Looks the same on the electronic version of the JS.... ;)
Last night actually had MU center page and UW as a sidebar, fwiw.
BTW, I like Fran McCafferey, but he really blew that game last night. He had three timeouts in his pocket, up two with the ball with about 50 seconds to go. Didn't get a good shot off.
Tie game with 20 seconds to go. Didn't get a good shot off.
In overtime, down three with 7 seconds to go. Didn't get a good shot off.
Never used a timeout.
Wisconsin is ranked 14th in the nation right now, they earned the front page headline.
I've wondered about it from afar while reading the online version.....
In the old days when I was at MU...70-74...The Sentinel always gave MU front page coverage and the Journal a little less so but nowhere near as blatant as the UW bias that it represents today.....guess when they merged the editorial policy of the Journal prevailed....flourished...
Amazingly, you can often get better MU coverage in the Chicago papers.....guess they actually pay attention to that big alumni base in Chicago

You can't be serious. UW basketball in the 70s was an AFTERTHOUGHT compared to MU basketball.
UW is ranked 14, and MU is NOT RANKED.

This is exactly right. This is an editorial decision based on their audience, not the whims of their editors. The fact is, there are more Badger fans in Milwaukee than Marquette fans.

UW did not go the the NCAA between 1947 and 1994. Back then they were about as good as IU now as they often finished last in the B10.
