Pretty stupid...both Butler and Junior had both told him to quit running his mouth. Jae needs to avoid the bad fouls. We cant win without him. Needs to play smarter.
Is this his first T? Even if it isnt it was the heat of the moment with some bad calls. Who knows what was being said to him. Not gunna lie, kinda glad to see someone stepping up and saying, "dont mess with me."

That's great, someone stepped up, ran their mouth.... and we lost. Does that really make you happy?

Actually, yes. All year teams make MU look weak by talking trash and pushing them around. T Nash, the king of it.. and relax it was a double T. The more the guys let people push us around the weaker we look. Sorry, and am I happy they lost? Would Jae have made a difference in the last few minutes?? No. We got trashed on D all day.

You guys do know the technical wasn't for "running his mouth," right?

The ref watched the 2 of them yap at each other then double T'd them. Or am I missing something?
But, but, but we're tough. I know 'cuz Buzz tells us so...over and over and over.
What were the students chanting at Jae? At first it sounded something like Yannick Noah, but after he fouled out it sounded different. Plus he laughed at whatever it was when he sat down.
Didn't hear it but maybe something about J. Noah? Since they have similar hair cuts?

Guess I mistook what you were saying, since I took "running his mouth" to be that he was yapping at an official.
Actually, they were chanting "whoppi goldberg"..... according to Rosiak
Oooh that's much worse
Chalk me up as a guy who thinks players should be able to jaw at eachother pretty hard before they get t'd up, as in, the ref thinks the words are extremely heated, not just some casual punk talk. T's are for extremely bad behavior, not to teach the guys to be gentlemen.
From the little video we saw .. seemed like those guys weren't going overboard.
well what ever it was both Butler and cadougan felt it necessary to go over and tell him to cool it...15 seconds later he go t'd
Was it just me or did it look like several times players on both teams were out of bounds with the ball on the baseline and never got called for it? There was one time Joe saved a ball with 3/4 of his foot over the line I thought!

IIRC, there was a confrontation (face-to-face jawing) between the two outside the lane before/during the FTs.

Three or four times on that far baseline... might've been a bad camera angle, or maybe the officials were looking at other things. Guessing the former, though the Nova crowd certainly thought Fulce stepped on the line.

You honestly think that if we talked more trash we wouldn't "look weak?" That has to be the lamest thing I've ever heard.
I'm fine if you get fired up and maybe draw a T at the right time. But if you're trailing with 4 minutes left and you pick up your 4th on a T, then foul out a minute later...could have done without that.
Love Jae, but he runs his mouth and is very demonstrative overall all when calls don't go his way. I'm surprised that this was his first T of the season. The refs were watching him close last night, and that 4th foul / T really hurt the team. Need to have him on the floor in the final minutes.
I think the 5th foul may have been the ref just getting rid of him. I looked like Jae never touched the guy.

From what I saw, he did touch the guy, barely. It was like a tap on the arm as he was bringing the arm up, like Crowder was trying to stop what he was doing. But the whistle blew simultaneously with the light tap. No question from that view that the ref had made his mind up that if the Predator did anything like breathe on the gut, he was going to get called.

Ha ha... Shows how 2 can see things quite different. I thought the replay showed him nail the guy on the wrist...

On the first view, I thought that he didn't touch they guy. On the replay, I thought it was obvious that he got the guy's wrist on the way up.
Crowder may be the worst fouler (in terms of ticky-tack bad fouls...like the one he got hedging a high ball screen...his 5th under the basket...) in a Marquette uniform since Dan Fitzgerald. He needs to learn how to avoid those fouls (or, if he's going to foul, to make it count...no way should a guy as strong as Jae be giving up and-1s). This team simply can't afford to be without him for extended periods.
On a completely unrelated topic, is it just me or does it seem like our guys (Butler and Crowder specifically) spend so much energy trying to draw fouls under the basket that they forget to just make the damn layup? Does anyone miss more 2-3 footers than Marquette?

I can't think of many instances where it is OK to have a *player* draw a T. Would much rather have a coach do that.

Happens many times every game. Mostly Butler with the hang, double clutch, try and draw body contact, etc... Sometimes it works, many times it has me yelling:
"go up strong g&$ d@%m@t"
