Title: SJU vs. Duke
Post by: mugrad2006 on January 30, 2011, 12:51:26 PM
SJU just rocking Duke as MSG right now.  Up by 19 with 2 to play in the 1st half and Duke can't defend anything.

+21 at the half.  SJU looks tough.

This obviously is great for the conference.  Nationally televised game on a rather slow Sunday...and the 11th placed team in the Big East (11th!!!!) is destroying the #3 team in the country.

10-11 teams from the Big East could (and should) be a reality.

And SJU comes out strong in the second half and grows the lead to 25.  Would love to see the Johnnies take down Duke and prove yet again why the BEAST is the toughest conference in college BB week in and week out.

Jeez...up 22 with 15 to play  :o

I hope this is the year the Big East backs it up in tournament play, too. We always seem to be clearly the best conference from November to February, but for some reason don't end up with the best showing come March.

It's amazing what an all conference point guard does for a team.

Duke is also shooting 4.8% on threes (1 for 21).

Not watching the game so someone else will have to comment on whether Saint John's defense can take credit for that.

Up until recently I really thought that the Big East would get 9 teams max.  But watching UConn take out Texas in Austin and St. John's now take it to Duke, I think you are right.  The Big East could get 10.
