I was at the game today... pretty sure this is not a regular thing that happens in games, as it seems VERY unsportsmanlike. However, when Syracuse was running onto the court for the final warm ups before they get announced, they blatantly kicked/punted basketballs that were sitting on the halfcourt line to the other side of the court towards the student section/cameramen/cheerleaders.
Anyone else notice this or see this? I think Syracuse is a load of cocky a-holes.
Yes, saw it as well. My first thought was how disrespectful and classless it looked. I remember when we used to get yelled at in 5th grade for kicking basketballs, just an etiquette thing.
But then I thought maybe those were their team balls and they were sending them down toward their bench since they were warming up on the basket near the MU bench.
I don't know if teams bring their own balls, but it's possible that is why they did it.
I saw that too. Then someone sitting on the baseline rolled one of the balls back to them and a player kicked it right back. WTF is that all about? Hopefully it was the dude who Butler kicked in the nuts on that step back 3.LOL
Yeah, they were about as classy as the crowd yelling "you suck" at them.
Didn;t see that bvut towards the end of the game when the crowd was loud, one of the Syr player's was palms up iand down ndicating that they crowd should cheer more. At that point I thought we'll win becuase the crowd obviously got into this head. . . never saw that before.

Would it be ok with you if they yell "you stink"?
Cocky or whatever, it was strange to see them come on to the court and do what they did. Seemed disrespectful to me. What if our players were warming up and landed on one of them? I think they have heard worse than you suck being yelled at them and besides it's the truth!
Well, the MU players were pretty demonstrative towards the Cuse bench after they made some big plays in front of the Cuse bench. I remember Crowder and DJO looking right at their bench and talking so someone must've pissed them off.

I thought it was this... or that what they were going to do in warm ups did not involve that many balls

Still, blatantly punting balls across court is totally unsportsmanlike.

Is there anywhere that doesn't do that?

I heard that MU stole that from UW-Madison. They started doing it to their own team, though, some time in the early 1970's.
I heard it's a new practice instituted by Assistant Coach Devendorf. ;)
I don't care whether or not other schools yell it. I don't like that my school yells it. Surely we can do better than that.

I agree with you on this one.

I hope we are beating them soundly if they are not bringing their own balls...

We will have to send them over to the AL to play the ladies.

So only a few players were involved and not the whole team?

UW students are among the "best and brightest". We bourgeoisie can't hope to grasp all that is clever and classy about them.

Please, petit bourgeois. We can only aspire to such greatness as found in our neighbors to the west
