Title: Is Buzz Listening on Timeouts?
Post by: HoopsMalone on January 29, 2011, 02:48:06 PM
Cuse cuts it to 6 on a 3-pointer after Jimmy took a long jumper after a poor possession.  Buzz calls timeout immediately.

Anyone surprised?

I think that was a great use of a time out.

GARDNER IS GETTING ABUSED.

Yes, good call.  Cuse down 11 with 4 to go.  They put in Jackson with two fouls and they whittled the lead.

Jackson and Jardine have been on bench most of the half.

These timeouts have been much better

wow.  two Cuse baskets and a couple mins in to the second half and Buzz already called a timeout.  This is a BIG change for him.

Another good one after the offense stalled to set up the Butler 3.  Nice going Buzz.  Forget the whole "let them learn to work through it" crap, you don't have to do that because God invented the timeout.

We won today because Buzz was on MUScoop reading people's posts about how he needs to utilize his timeouts.

And that was a great play call at the end of the game to set up Jimmy.  Buzz's play forced the bottom wing defender to stay with Otule or cover Jimmy.

Or maybe he only reads Crackedsidewalks and Chicos' suspension forced him to put that post up on Crackedsidewalks and Buzz saw it.  Chicos' suspension won the game.

He definitely called them at the right times today. I remembered the posts on this when he called that timeout when the lead was at 6

I did not concentrate on DG when he was in?  What did he do?

I think too much is made when a coach uses a timeout.

I place the credit squarely in rocky's corner for doing the suspending. Well done, rock!

Better timeout usage today, though I still think he should have called one when SU first tied the game at 56, also thought one was warranted after they tied it at 66. Especially the second time, when the shot clock was dying and he finally called it I felt so relieved. Still amazed Jimmy hit that shot, but it sure made Buzz look like a genius.
