Title: A bright side re: MSU
Post by: NavinRJohnson on March 11, 2007, 06:45:49 PM
Only road/neutral wins all season...Penn State (Road) and Northwestern (Neutral - B10 Tournament).

Oh yeah, that and they don't have a PG.

Tragically, MSU is my second favorite team.   Jerel can seriously limit Neitzel.   MSU's bigs are interchangeable and one dimensional.   Tragically, if you get one in foul trouble, and equally large one comes in off of the bench.   Not deep at guard, Neitzel plays 35+ a night.   A couple of young, athletic wings, but inconsistent.   Definitely winnable, but we have to play the game at our speed and not theirs.

I also believe Cubillan could guard Neitzel without a problem, however we can't let him get hot, otherwise it could very well be 1 and done

We will beat MSU and NC. You heard it here first. We will have trouble with Texas. Of course this assumes Crean will not reject the NCAA bid which I would also rebelliously advocate.

With McNeal I would say its possible. I think we'll beat MSU, but without Jerel I don't think we have much of a chance against UNC. He would be a key because as good and talented as UNC is, their guards are Freshmen and the way they like to get out and run, I think we could force them into some turnovers. Without him though, the defense I saw against Pitt makes me hope we can keep it close.

you will lose to MSU.   No need to plan a 2nd game.  You have lost 3 of the last 4 time in the first round.   What a JOKE ;D ;D ;D ;D

'MSU wins" frankly makes no rational argument. I will respond to his comments next week when the game is in the books. Look what we did to Duke, Pitt (2X), Texas Tech, UConn, Nova, Seto hall and Providence.
