FWIW

Being reported on the UNC premium board that Roy was at the Al watching JP tonight.

That's funny. I don't think JP was playing at the Al tonight. But I think he did play at MUHS.

Yes, I was at MUHS for the Brandon Jennings Invitational. Roy showed up and watched Tokoto play. The MF coach was getting a lot of grief from the fans when they saw Tokoto on the bench the entire first quarter. I was sitting right behind Tony Smith and he told me that he had to sit out the first quarter because he missed practice the previous day.

Btw. Tokoto is the real deal. Boy was I impressed with him. The kid can flat out play. Wish MU had a chance, but it doesn't look like that from what I've read.

Does anyone honestly think we have a shot at this kid?  Think we would've learned our lesson by now.

Yeah, I do think we have a shot. I don't think we're necessarily a front-runner, that'd clearly be UNC, but I think we are more likely than say Wisconsin, who would fit JPT's game like an extra-small rubber glove.

He has spent a lot of time on campus and at MU events, he clearly has been able to develop a rapport with our players and coach. My guess is he is probably more familiar with Marquette's players on a personal level than any other school if for no other reason than proximity. If UNC decides to go a different route with the scholarship, or if he feels that he might be homesick that far away, I think Marquette is a viable option. I'd probably give us a 20% chance, but as I'd guess UNC is probably 70% likely to get him, I don't think those are bad odds.

Let's hope that UNC continues to struggle...

I put it a tad higher.  I would say that they are clearly looking hard at MU given the time that JP and his family have spent here.  I don't see how you can't think that we are a viable option.

But in the end I would be surprised.
