Title: Tyshaun Taylor
Post by: mviale on January 22, 2011, 05:22:59 PM
Talk about flat growth - This kid seems like he has not improved a lick since graduating from HS.  Look at Jimmy Butlers growth compared to this kid.  He has the same numbers as Blue.

Now Iman Shupert was the real deal.

What about Michael Snaer?  How has he been living at Florida State?

I was at the Phog this afternoon watching KU go down to Texas.  I wouldn't rip on Taylor.   He did not have much of an impact today but he has a lot of skill and there have been games this year where he has made a tremendous difference.   He handles the ball well and plays great defense.   He also has a decent outside shot.   He drives and finishes well.  When you are on a team like Kansas that is loaded year after year, Taylor is not the type of talent that is going to have a break out superstar-esque type year.   He is a solid player and fits a good role at KU.   He would have been a very good player at MU, imo.

As an aside, the atmosphere at KU games is unbelievable.  I wish MU had an on-campus stadium that roared like that place.   As another off-point, Texas looked really really good in the 2nd half.  Their bigs are tough....and young.

He's a starter for arguably the best team in the country. His numbers don't tell the whole story. The kid can play.

I think KU is a ton overrated this year.

I wish we were as overrated as KU.   Last week there was a lot of press down here that KU was the "worst 17-0 team" ever and then they went into Baylor and blew them out of the arena.   They looked liked national champions in the first half today and then gagged it up in the 2nd half.   So, who knows?  They do have a lot of talent and if Selby can play closer to his ranking coming out of H.S., they will be a very dangerous team in March.

Wait, that sure sounds familiar

I watched Carson Desrosiers play for Wake today.  Raw and a little weak, but man he is going to be good in a couple of years.
